His control has been off over the past week, but I believe that Rudy Seanez is going to turn out to be a valuable pickup for this year’s team. Kendrick needs to be quicker to learn the lesson that Gavin Floyd has apparently finally learned this season in Chicago….be aggressive! Trust your stuff and your fielders! Chase is quite simply one of the best hitters in baseball today.

BTW, I believe I remarked about her yesterday, but the one interviewing Chase Utley is FSN Rocky Mountain’s Alanna Rizzo. She’s a tremendous sideline reporter. Absolutely tremendous.

I believe he was only with the Mets for 1 year right? He left us, and we won. Wasn’t sure I wanted him back after that.

Hope you guys are having fun out there! I thought Kendrick looked better last night then early on in the season but he still is not pitching with the confidence he had last year. He needs to stop trying to strike guys out and make perfect pitches and allow his defense to do the work.

Looking at the last photo of the set, is that Tom McCarthy interviewing Jason Werth? I like him as a play by play announcer as long as he doesn’t go off track with rambling anecdotes that aren’t related to the game at hand. ;-)

As you probably know, he covered the Mets games as announcer on WFAN radio station for 2 years prior to being hired by the Phillies. In addition, I have good memories of him back in the early 90′s when he was covering the Trenton Thunder (Trenton, NJ near where I lived), a double A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers at the time. What you may not know, he also became assistant general manager of the team later on in 1996 I think. Anyone for Tom as Phillies’ GM when “Stand Pat” Gillick leaves after this season. ;-)

Does anyone else think that T.J. Bohn looks like he should be playing bass for the Scorpions? Glad to see him atone for the drop, maybe Howard could use some pointers.

Howard fielded well Sunday night. I’d like to see the errors get reduced. The Phils sounded like they made some nice defensive plays tonight (3 DPs) in addition to their flubs, maybe they are starting to get on track. Fortunately, the errors didn’t cost them. It is nice to have a bullpen thats clicking, maybe some singles and some clutch hits by the Phils tonight will jumpstart that O.

I have to give props to Ryan Howard, too. He singled to key that two-out rally that got the Phils the win. Also, Burrell going the other way with a single in the hole? Brilliant.
