Friday Night’s Probable: Hamels Vs. Santana

Willie Randolph told reporters that Nelson Figueroa will start Thursday for the Mets. That means Johan Santana will start Friday.

That means Friday night is changeup vs. changeup; lefty vs. lefty; Phillies vs. Mets; Cole Hamels vs. Johan Santana.

Here’s how the Phillies/Mets series looks to shake out:

  • Friday: Cole Hamels vs. Johan Santana
  • Saturday: Jamie Moyer vs. Oliver Perez
  • Sunday: Adam Eaton vs. Mike Pelfrey

Simply put, this is as exciting as a game can get this early in the season. I do not like getting overly dramatic about April games, but with the mediocre play as of late, this series can be a huge boost. If the work week was not long enough already, waiting for this game just made it that much worse.

thats a great matchup, but cbp isn’t a good park for santana to pitch in, he’s giving up too many bombs already.

should be a great weekend series. hopefully tickets arent sold out, would love to see my first game at cbp.

I cannot wait for the match-up. I am sure that Hamels wishes he had Santana’s salary ?? Well, he will get a chance to prove it on Friday . . . . Anyway, I will be at the game in the 2nd row right behind Burrell. I don’t expect too many homeruns until the Mets go to their bullpen, but a man can dream can’t he?? Go Phight’ns – Nothing better than the beast of the east games.
