What is the weather for tonight? Is it going to be cold? I’d be worried about some hammies getting pulled in Philly tonight if it is. Hamels should go 7 or 8, and the Nationals pitcher is not great, so it will probably be over by then and Flash can crash for the night.

Unfortunately, I think Charlie will stick with Gordon in a Save situation, for some strange reason he has faith in him. I for one would really like to see Romero get a shot, at this point he is our best and most consistent arm in the pen. I think hes got the stuff and the attitude to close until Lidge is ready…

I wouldn’t be surprised if Charlie sticks with Gordon. I’m hoping, however, Cole can go eight and the offense can pull away so we get Condrey or Lahey for the ninth. Maybe a 6-1 win or something?

Last year, Pedro pitched a sum total of 5 games for the Mets.

They finished with 88 wins, one less than the high flying Phils.

Last year’s team did not have Johan Santana.

And their bullpen threw 6 scoreless innings last night.

It would be a significant occurance if the Phils’ bullpen threw 6 scoreless innings in a week.

It’s going to be hard to catch a team that’s going to be 100-62, but the Mets should be able to grab a wild card.

Pedro was throwing some nice fat 86 MPH straight heaters in that game. I saw 2 laser shots hit off him. I have a feeling that he might be shut down for more than a couple of weeks…

I don’t like to see people get injured, but I don’t think the Mets have the character that the Phils had all season long last year to overcome devastating injuries. The Muts will whine about this injury, while the Phils would just suck it up and be MEN. Go PHILLIES!!!
