I know what Mike’s on about. I spent a decade as a journalist. Not in sports, but I know what it’s like when you have your story planned and pegged — or worse, when your editor has your story planned and pegged — and then the key source says: “Sorry, I ain’t talkin’ to you today.”

But, that said, good journalists go to Sources B, C and D when Source A doesn’t pan out. It’s not like he couldn’t have written a story about Jimmy’s key play by quoting the other 24 guys in the clubhouse whose butts were saved by Jimmy’s base running. Or he could have interviewed the manager. The first- and third-base coaches. The guy who drew the walk.

Good journalists don’t throw tantrums in print. If it really bugs him, he can say: “Rollins refused to be interviewed.” But calling the reigning MVP’s role on the team into question because he declined (once; Rollins in general has a track record of being open to the media) to talk a reporter? That’s just amateurish and small.

Titilating Mr. Sielski, but were are only 3 games into the season.

Obviously you want Jimmy Rollins to be the team mouthpiece, but right now I don’t think the team has much to say. one great inning doesn’t make up for 26 some what lousy ones. Let Jimmy speak with his glove and his bat for now.

Who is with me thinking Adam Eaton is gonna throw a no hitter? hands?
