The Associated Press reported Shane Victorino went 2-for-4 in his final rehab assignment for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. He finished 3-for-8 in two games with the Pigs, including a nice basket catch.

Victorino is scheduled to be with the Phillies Tuesday night, possibly in the starting lineup, when the Phils play the Padres.

I’m glad he will be back, but should he platoon with Jenkins when a left hander is pitching? Werth is doing so well out there in center, and he gives us the extra power that Victorino just does not have.

I’m sure he’ll share time with Jenkins. I don’t see Werth coming out of the lineup anytime soon.

They have to put Vic in a platoon with Jenkins. it would be insanity to take werth’s ability to get on base out of the everyday lineup. Plus, he threw a strike from center field the other day against the pirates that was awesome.

As much as people knock the signing of Eaton, Helms, etc… Gillick’s signing of Werth is looking like a great move. Burrell gone next year? Werth in left, Victorino in center… then maybe Golson or somebody on the farm will be able to play major league baseball… who is the last outfielder to get significant playing time from the Phillies farm system? Burrell? Marlon Byrd doesn’t count.. Abreu was a trade… im drawing a blank…
