Quick fact about the Marlins….they are 2nd in the majors in K’s with 411. 50some more K’s than the Phils. Thats a ton of whiffs. Its only time before they come back to earth. They have guys like Cantu playing out of the damn head. Unless I’m missing something the Phils dont really have anyone on offense “over performing.”

Did anyone catch the note in todays paper that the Phils have lined Bastardo up with Eaton rotation-wise down in Reading? I hope thats a good sign.

The one little “BIG” thing that i notiuced in this game was the fact that our Big Man got a sac fly andnot a strikeout with 2 strikes…I mean come on. If he can just put the ball in play and not strike out, I would not be concerned with the $10MM he is getting. Oh and where has that loud mouth N.Y.C. Pimp been lately. Guess he knows when he needs to shut his mouth.

it would be nice to see the Phils rip-off a nice win streak. The Mets are too worried about whether they have a manager, the Braves still do not have a healthy rotation, and when we beat-up on the fish we should distance ourselves.

Nice week scoring runs for the Phils. I was at the 12-2 drubbing of the Nats and the best thing watching the team was the clutch hitting. It is being picked up and with the Mets being down, I think the Phils are realizing it is time to really capture the moment. The Phils need to win all three series here at home and go from there.

Glad to see Feliz has been finding his groove and Victorino is starting to hit better. Rollins really steadies this lineup and it won’t be long before we see them in 1st place.

I agree Pedro Feliz has been lighting it up lately, but even more suprising is So Taguchi going 3 for 5 last night. I mean So Taguchi !! Can you believe it? These are exciting times for the Phillies, but I am excited for them to go head to head with the Marlins. I can’t even believe that I just said that! Last year I would have laughed at myself if I would have thought that the Marlins would be leading the N.L. East going into Memorial Day. I guess that is why there is 162 games, so to separate the men from the boys . . . . .

Yea, normally the Phillies rock 10+ runs one night, the next night they score 1 or something… but considering they have Hits = 19, 16, 7, 10, 15 …. 13. 5 hits per game in their last 5… that ain’t a fluke… that is how good this Phillies offense can be.

With Holliday, Tulo, Hawpe out of the lineup..its nice to see the Phillies jump on a team and stay at it. A sweep here would be nice, and then we need to take care of the fish too (who I think are a fraud)… they can hit the ball, but not as well as we can… get ready for some intersting games in that series..

Kendrick on the hill tonight (stay away rain.. ) lets hope he can do another good job of keeping the ball down in the zone and letting the offense do their part.

How about that Pedro Feliz… im telling you, hell of a pickup… slow and steady, he’ll get his numbers, and play great defense!!

Its definitely time to inflict vengeance tonight upon ubaldo jiminez. they owe him like 8 or 9 runs to put him in his place for what he did to them last year. If only they could send francis out there on wednesday so he can get shelled. I like how the rockies had to send out manny corpas because the phillies reserves were driving in runs against herges. feliz has definitely improved his swing and plate habits in the past few days. people should know by now not to throw him high fastballs but they still do.

How about Victorino getting on base 5 times and scoring 4 runs? Only Pat showed some reserve being the only hitless starter aside from Jamie Moyer.

Mark, stop bringing the doom.

I know, I know. There’s a perception that we just shot our load and will score a total of one run over the next two games. This is, of course, possible. But hitting operates in waves and streaks. So it’s just as possible that this wave will continue a bit longer before it settles down.

And this homestand has to be huge. I mean like 8-2 huge. And these games are in OUR park, against the team that we need to inflict vengeance upon (Flyers style), and then against those imposters from Florida so we can put them back in their place. This is the homestand where we let teams know that CBP is a brutal, soul-crushing place for visitors to play. As far as I’m concerned, 20-5 isn’t reason to be cautious. It’s reason to smell the blood of our opponents and get even thirstier.

But, beware of these offensive explosions. It is great to watch the Phillies offense produce big numbers and a few laughers, but inevitably, some of the runs scored in these explosions could go unscored in the clutch, in close and/or crucial ballgames where they are needed to maintain momentum with the division race on the line.
