With two weeks left to vote for the National League All-Star team, it looks as if Chase Utley has locked his spot in. But will Pat Burrell make a move to the front?

Burrell jumped back to sixth-place in the most recent results. He’s now behind the usual three (Kosuke Fukudome, Alfonso Soriano, Ken Griffey Jr.), then Ryan Braun and Carlos Lee. With the Phillies at home this week, this could be the best chance for Burrell to pounce on the top-three.

Utley’s MLB-best lead is even greater this week, as he now has 1,743,548 votes, almost 1,000,000 more than second-place Mark DeRosa. Jimmy Rollins has moved up past Jose Reyes in the shortstop race, and he trails leader Miguel Tejada by cloes to 250,000 votes.Ryan Howard is in fifth-place among first basemen, more than 800,000 back of Lance Berkman.

Your leaders remain the same: Soto/Berkman/Utley/Jones/Tejada/Soriano/Fukudome/Griffey.

Here’s where you can vote.

Let’s all vote for Howard, Burrell, and J-Roll!!! Burrell deserves a starting spot in my opinion, or at the very least a back up spot. The guy isn’t a super star, but he’s good enough to be deserving of 1 all-star game start in his career.

And people wonder why the NL loses every year. All of these damn cubs fans. I can live with Soto, even though McCann or Russell Martin would be better. Soriano is worthy, but he obviously isn’t going to play. Fukudome?…..DeRosa?….I understand why Griffey gets votes, but come on, this isn’t a lifetime achievement award. I would much rather have guys like Nate McLouth, Ryan Braun, Ryan Ludwick, or Pat Burrell. But I guess Cubs fans and NL voters would much rather see their players on the field than have homefield advantage in the WS or at least salvage some dignity for the NL after getting dominated every year.
