And Black Is White: Hamels Knocked Around In Loss

Cole Hamels was supposed to keep the winning streak going. As the ace, it seemed simple. But the young lefty struggled yet again, giving up seven earned runs in a 7-3 loss to the Marlins. It dropped the Phils back to second place, 0.5 games in back of the Fish, with Sunday the deciding contest.
Hamels ran into trouble in the fourth inning, when he let former-Phillie Wes Helms beat him with a two-RBI double. (Somehow I feel Abraham Nunez and Freddy Garcia will both kill us before the year ends.) What seemed to be the end of a rally continued, as Luis Gonzalez smashed a home run to make it 4-2. In the sixth, Jorge Cantu and Cody Ross homered to put Hamels away. He didn’t have it.
This is unacceptable, especially as Hamels has struggled now for a couple games. Your ace needs to be more than effective. And a guy who says he shoots for a Cy Young award, a perfect game — all that junk, he has to perform better.
Chase Utley hit his league-leading 19th home run of the season, but the offense was finally subdued, this time by right-hander Ricky Nolasco. This will happen; it’s the ace’s job to make sure the team still wins. He didn’t.

I was there last night and that was a disgraceful performance. cole hamels was humiliated and ricky nolasco brought the offense down to earth.
im tired of arguing with people about pitching. when your ace gives up 7 runs to a team thats not yet proven then its really obvious that the team needs to add to this rotation with proven talent. im sick of repeating the same stuff over and over again. they need more starting pitching thats reliable.

last night was the first game i went to this year and it was pretty disappointing to me. the phils hit some balls real hard but in all the wrong places. just seemed to be snakebit.
btw: whats up with the phils fans that go to the games these days? nobody seems to give two s#!ts about the game. everybody is just there for a fun night out and not even paying attention. for a sellout crowd there sure were alot of empty seats. believe me, i was near the very top in the first base side behind the phils dugout and we had entire rows of seats empty for the whole game. and by the ninth inning more than half of the crowd had gone home. i was truly disgusted by what i saw in that park. weak ass fans. i know those aren’t the real true phils fans

So many people want to walk around. I know tons of people that go late stay for a few innings, walk around and then leave. WTH is that? i hate that

I like to walk around for an inning or 2 if it’s a blow out game. There is good food and beer at that ballpark. It’s really nice too, but honestly you guys went to a weekend game. True fans go to the ballpark on the weekdays because they know about the assholes that go on the weekends.
