I should say .260 BA is respectable for a 7th hole hitter, not to mention he has 8 homers and 20 something RBIs. He’s a huge upgrade to the Dobbs/Werth platoon.

Come on man. Everyone knows the phillies owners are taking us for a ride. theyre shorting us at least 10-30 million for a payroll that needed it badly. theres no excuse for passing on torii hunter or showing aaron rowand the door. that place gets awesome attendance and its a money vaccum. its a theme park down there man. friggin joke.

oh, and except for kyle lohse. good players DONT take less money. they take more money AND/OR longer contracts. the phillies GM/ownership openly brags about how they dont give out more than 3 year contracts to any pitcher!!!!!

guess what? good players are just going to laugh and say “fuck you” when they call and offer 3 years to anyone with a reputation of good play. you CANT win like that. they wont come and play here.

thats why torii hunter didnt come. thats why aaron rowand left.
thats why they DIDNT offer mike lowell that contract but lied and acted like they did. lowells people even said they didnt. thats why youre stuck with GEOFF JENKINS PEDRO FELIZ AND SO TAGUCHI! those guys FUCKING SUCK! so taguchi should be cut IMMEDIATELY! he totally sucks.

jenkins is homerun or strikeout. same with feliz. thats GARBAGE!

sure, all of these guys can hit slop junk pitchers that dont belong in MLB but are still there because theyre in the national league. when they face good pitching they cant get it done! its as simple as that.

theyre good. because in relation to their competetion in the NL there are teams much worse than they are. but theyre just not good ENOUGH.

last time i checked you could loose championships in june(but im not saying that) but if you cant win in june u cant win in october…who takes less money to play somewhere else. lowell? he wanted to stay in boson its not like he didnt like philly… you know nothing. players love philly bc we are so diehard…burell? he got booed for years and wont let us trade him away bc he love the fans and the city so much….you need some knowledge

Ryan, you just contradicted your self. in the post before you said “we’re still in first..blah blah blah” yet, you just said championships are not won in june.So by that theory you shouldnt be so giddy over the fact we just lost 3 consecutive series including a sweep…because as you said, championships arent won in June. so being in first witha .5 lead means crap right now.

last time i checked, championships are won in october, not june!… and you don’t know anything about me. and yes, we are just fine and there is nothing to worry about. we need to pick up a pitcher for the rotation, but other than that we have to let it ride and let this season play out, not make irrational judgments on the team in June before the season is even halfway over. no wonder you guys don’t wanna watch the games this week, you’re getting an ulcer over one bad homestand. i wouldn’t watch if i was you either. but i tell you what, i’ll sure as hell be watchin every game this week just like every other week. because i’m not some lame ass bandwagon fan like you that only watches when they’re winning. you obviously don’t watch that much or else you might know that there are ups and downs during the course of a season and you don’t win every game or series. its people like you that are the reason players take less money to play other places than philly.

Harang, Sheets Available?
The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that Reds’ ace Aaron Harang may be available as the trade deadline approaches, although it would take multiple top prospects to pry him away. All of the teams interested in C.C. Sabathia and Erik Bedard figure to keep their ears open regarding Harang. In other news, the Philadelphia Daily News is reporting that a Phils special assistant has been in Milwaukee the past few days, giving him a chance to take a look at Ben Sheets. Sheets is in interesting player as the deadline nears as he is very injury prone but can be a devastatingly good pitcher when he stays healthy. With the Brewers hot right now and only 5 games out of first place, I don’t see them dealing him unless they received an overwhelming offer.

well, the mets aren’t playing like garbage lately, they’ve been winning series and if they keep the lead today won another series. Reyes is currently batting almost 300 with a 487 slg. Beltran has picked it up lately,not to mention that they have some good pitching going for them, Santana, Maine, and even Pelfrey has stepped it up and has had great starts and currently shut out the rockies through 6, top of the 7th mets leading 3-0.

remember baseball is a long season, so anything can happen..i wouldn’t be surprised if the mets end up lapping the phils by the end of next week..with the mets playing seattle and NY and the phils playing Oakland and Texas.
