People need to stop trashing Howard. The guy has been in a slump(not as bad as of recently) but he’s going to come around when we need him most, after the all-star game. He’s still gonna pound over 40 homers and 120 RBIs. He puts fans in the seat. The most exciting thing about baseball is the long ball, and he does not fail at providing those for the Phillies. He’s been having much better at bats the past few weeks. He is a staple to the Phillies and a key reason that we have a chance at winning a championship. I don’t understand why people think we should trade him.

Thanks, Bruce!! It’s not huge since we only have 4 people since it’s on my partial season plan, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be something along the lines of:

Go to prom (With a check next to it)
Graduate (With a check)
Go to College (With a box ready for a check; Pitt by the way!!!)
Win the World Series (With a box ready for a check andddd with much more emphasis than the others) =)

So maybe with our caps and gowns on and our sign we’ll make the TV! My seats are along the third base line, 135!

Haha I kind of want to make a sign sometime that says “Chase, I’m a History major too!!!) since that’s what I am and that’s what he was and since I love him. And no, I don’t just love him for his looks! And I’ve loved him since he first came up, so I’m not just the typical girl Utley lover. Plus I know his stats and such!! =)

I was amused with your “rant” on Howard. After you calmed down, I’m sure you took another look at Howard’s contribution in today’s game. He had a great at bat in the 1st inning with Utley on 2nd (after his stolen base). He came through with a clutch RBI single up the middle. Nice to see a run “manufactured” this way. Howard also took a hit in the ribs by an errant pitch in the 7th inning and later scored in the inning.

Oh.. Howard also played some defense. A few lines from game report:
” Howard grabbed a sharp liner by Mike Jacobs and turned it into a double play in the sixth. Howard also made a sprawling catch on a sacrifice attempt by Jacque Jones in the seventh. ”

Definitely a good day for Howard and a important win for our Phillies. ;-)

I just got back from the clearwater game in sarasota. Joe Savery started and gave up 5 runs in 6 innings. Snelling didnt do anything at all, but dang does his appearance look similar to John Kruk. Baez started at third base and had a great game with a home-run. Adrian Cordenas the 2B looked strong also.

I know he’s allegedly swinging the bat better overall, and his HR and RBI numbers ain’t bad, but Howard really still seems kinda clueless. Early in the game, against a (rookie? at least young) left hander, he swings away at the first pitch and flies out with a man on first. At least Burrell made the guy work and throw eight pitches the next at bat. And then swinging at a 3-0? DP?

I’m beginning to think the problem isn’t his eyesight, his timing, his mechanics or anything physical like that. I’m beginning to think he’s simply got shit for brains.

I’ll stop with the rant and take the win. Burrell once again proving his worth to the team and showing why he should be resigned. And how ’bout Jenkins coming through huge there? It seems like our bench is the best in the NL.

Way to go Phillies!! 2 of 3 from the Marlins and back into first place. Jamie hung in, Chase hit #20. Gordon got it through to Lidge Time and Lidge was, what Lidge seems to be all of the time — AWESOME!!
