Initial thoughts on the game before a post:

- Great crowd tonight. Mostly Philly fans. I’d say about 71/29.
- Dustin Pedroia and Julio Lugo know how to hit Hamels. Just time the fastball.
- Utley had a bad game, but he’ll bounce back sure enough.
- Howard’s mashing righties now. He’s opening up against lefties, though.
- Jimmy looks like he’s turning a corner.
- Cole pitched fantastic and worked his curve wonderfully toward the end.
- Carlos Ruiz had the key hit in the game; Cole had a very key sac bunt to help blow the game open.
- Very big win. Lester’s the kind of guy we’ll have trouble with tomorrow.

Oh, not to mention we “swept” the cubs already this season. I know it wasn’t actually a sweep, but the ump made a horrible call. Not only that, but the Phillies are 1 of 3 teams that have a winning record on the road.

Pat, for starters we lose 2 to the cards without Pujols when our bats got cold after embarrassing them 20-2. We left 15 men on base on Sunday. They just weren’t getting things done. Myers actually single handedly lost us the game yesterday by pitching like shit. As for the Cubs, go look at who they’ve beat to have the best record in baseball and that’ll explain their record. Also, look how many games were at home and how many were away and what their home and away records are.
