Utley’s in a zone, and pitching and defense held up to beat Cincy despite a homer and 2 for 4 day by their rookie phenom Jay Bruce. Lidge struck out two of the three hitters he faced in the ninth after falling behind in the counts to both of them.

A great game, however a little disappointing in terms of Griffey drama and crowd size. It was something like 38,00 tonight and we didn’t even get to see a pinch-hit performance from Griffey. Man, that’s weak. However, it was awesome to see Bruce play. He’s hitting like .600 now with three jacks and he’s only 21. Utley played like an MVP tonight and extended his HR streak. Great stuff there. Tomorrow night I have third row seats in right field and if Griffey isn’t playing, there will be hell to pay.
