pat burell got tortured for hitting .240. he wasn’t even an mvp. seems like the same people that did that to burell are now suporting howard when I put blame on him?

Yeah hes gotta be better than this. if he doesnt pick it up by the end of this month you have to really worry, even though you should all be concerned now about him. youre going to need that run production EVEN IF you get another SP. do you go get another hitter? can they afford that AND a SP? not without giving up people from your roster now.

if he fails this year they really are in deep trouble

just when everyone thinks howard is out of his ways he starts a new slump. we cant count on him to help this team right now. we gotta figure the rest of the team is going to continue to pick him up and just hope he comes around like weve thought for a while but his BA is in the same place. The reason i give him so much blame and a lot of people disagree is bc hes a MVP. MVP’s need to carry there team in strecthes but i dont remember when hes done that this year. maybe a little in houston.

I completely agree about the game feeling lost…very intresting, because the phillies are always down 3-0 in the first inning, but definitely a bad feeling about that game.

It sealed the deal for me when meyers popped out trying to bunt Coste over to 3rd with no outs. He got left on base, and I just knew we were going to need that run.

Marlins are a good team. Their offense is really good. They’re like the Phillies last year. Crappy starters(they don’t have Hamels or a Kendrick miracle like we did) and their bullpen is better than ours was last year. Their defense is ridiculously bad unlike ours last year. Our defense is superior this year. I love it. We have 3 gold glovers in the infield, Howard is playing better D this year, and Victorino is ridiculous. Jenkins has been really stellar too.

They battled back… it just sucks when we make it 3-2…Myers gives up another jack..

Hamels needs to be solid again tonight.. Marlins aren’t that good of a team, and we shouldn’t struggle in Miami as much as we do.

How about that righty coming in and getting Utley and Howard to strikeout… that sucked..

I agree. This game just felt lost after the first inning. Cantu’s home run signaled that Myers wasn’t the same guy we saw againt Cincy. The most disappointing thing about last night wasn’t the loss, it was that Myers last performance may have been a mirage.
Also, did anyone bid to play catch with Mike Jacobs?!?!

Im really liking going after ben sheets as an option too. i wonder what the brewers would ask for. id have to resign him though. you cant rent players in MLB because you cant afford to urinate away prospects.
