Did you even see his [Myer's] last few innings? He started his last three batters off all with first pitch curve balls, all high for ball 1. Early in the year he doesn’t throw enough fastballs, couldn’t get his velocity up. Now, his velocity is up, but he’s not varying enough. He’s not throwing the ball low, which, if you’ve noticed, was the same thing that was plaguing Hamels. Carlos Ruiz is pretty much digging a trench trying to set up low enough for Hamels now. Myers is working very hard to get better, despite popular belief. As much as I love Coste, I’d be very curious to see how Myers pitches with Ruiz behind the plate…even Coste compliments Ruiz on his talent on calling a game. I still think Myers has a chance to turn it around, though he should not be allowed to call his own game.

What we need is Charlie Manuel to bitch slap Myers just like he did his wife. Too bad we don’t have Gio Gonzalez, we gave him away for Steady Freddy. Why don’t we pick him up lol I figure well get someone totally out of the blue a la Loshe last year. Unless we can somehow get C.C. or Harang, whatever pitcher we get will not be the second playoff we pitcher we may or may not need. We need a couple prayers to beat the Bosox once this year. Everytime we play them it seems like we get swept. Go Phillies and for god sakes Gillick get a pitcher that will help us.

have we won on espn all year.i remember 2 games. the mets game when bruntlett made 3 errors and the braves game we almost came back from 8-0 or something. i think thats was another myers shelling…they jinx us

Well I would either throw sinkers and changeups or bean people intentionally and get thrown out. i think i could end up giving up about 4 or 5 runs each time out. not badd…..

I think anyone is a better option than Brett Myers. You or I could probably get up there on that mound and do a better job than Myers.

I agree. is he ready though? no better way to find out i suppose.

the mariners manager said bedard is a 100 pitch pitcher and no matter what after 100 pitches hes done.

i dont like that. tahts a little scary. im thinking maybe derek lowe is a better option.

Young pitchers also tend to have a lot of success when they 1st come up. Look at KEndrick last year. That guy doesn’t have amazing stuff, he’s just decent, but noone has a book on the young pitchers yet. Carrassco actually doesn have good stuff and there is no book on him. They should really bring him up. Give him the shot. It’s better than Myers.

Yeah hes gotta go. Itll take a whole offseason to turn him back into a closer. Maybe he can help in the Pen and boost value by the deadline otherwise we might be stuck with him in the pen. thatassumes they get another starter in a deal. They have to, I cant imagine them standing still. thatd be a disgrace.

I heard Bedard is a REAL D!CKHEAD……. the entire team hates him…he hates the media and never does interviews when he gets shelled… they don’t need a guy like that in this clubhouse.

Myers seriously has ZERO value as a starting pitcher. They need to make the move to get him in the bullpen and then send him packing.. $8.5 million for a guy with a 3-8 record and 5.50+ ERA… He’s a punk, and they should get rid of him as soon as possible. I’d rather see HAPP or one of the young guys come up and get roughed-up a few times then see Myers get knocked around every 5 days. he sucks… cocky as can be…and no longer talented enough to back it up…

well at the beguinning of the year his curveball was working but he was throwing it too much and still got shelled. ive lost all hope with him…i hope he still has some trade value but i seriously doubt it

the curve IS his out pitch without his curve working hes garbage. like he is now.
