Hard to not consider Wagner. Reyes is on pace to have an incredible year. I hate the fan vote because griffey jr. starts. It’s not fair.

What does shooting steroids have to do with the All Star Game??? If Griffey wants a reward for not shooting up during his career its called the Hall Of Fame. He did his job. That spot on the All Star Team should go to a player that proved himself during the first half of the year. Stats are the basis for becoming an All Start, you dont get voted in for having a great ass.

I would have to agree that Griffey didn’t shoot up. Especially if the other guys say that they did because they needed help recovering. Griffey spent the last few years hurt. If he shot up he would have been able to “play through the pain”. Just my view tho. He could have shot up like everyone else in the game at the time.

are you a phillies fan. you want mets in the game? weird but anywyas if your a baseball fan you want reyes? do you watch the guy play. he doesnt play the game the right way. he mopes around the field, throws his glove when he makes errors and cant run the bases (other then steal).

What do you mean most likely never shot up? How do you know? Also, what does it mean to play the game correctly? And you’re sure it crossed his mind?

I think the All-Star voting should be left alone. It is the one completely free time we get our vote counted 100%. It is ours and ours alone. And yes, I think the electoral college is antiquated and the\at vote should be based upon popular vote.

And here is my thing about Griffey: I think the fans are rewarded a first ballot HOFer who most likely never shot up and all of his homers are 100% natural. Plus, he just hit his 600 and it is unlikely he will hit 700. I think it is the right thing to let him represent the NL, Cincy and all young players on how to play the game correctly and that staying off the juice showed just how much integrity he has. I am sure it crossed his mind and he knows he probably would be the HR king if he went the Bonds/McGwire/Sosa route.

And I also support the home field advantage the leagues play for. Growing up Puckett and the Twins were my favorite AL team. The only reason they won 2 WS was because they had home field advantage. They never won a WS road game.

Reyes is not an All-Star and Tejada is not a good example either. My choice would be Eric Bruntlett. (The rest of the post is serious though).

Billy Wagner 33 inn 23 h 8 bb 1.91 era 18 out of 23 saves

anyways i hate this popularity contest for starts. This games is supposed to “mean” something. still think the homefield advantage is stupid but it is what it is so why don’t we field the best team with the players having the best years that we can. i thin k the whole voting process is stupid. common, ken griffey? i wouldnt mind if he was retiring at the end of the year if he got the start sort of like ripken but this guy doesnt play everyday and hes not the same player he has been. i wish set up men had a couple spots on the roster but obvisiously not enough room. durbin would definatly have a spot

i dont see reyes making the team. hurdle picks the reserves right? if so hurdles man was willie randolf and he got canned. eillie supposedly didnt like reyes immature crap and how he doesnt always play with the same intensity. so to stand up for his man randolph, hopefully he leaves reyes hanging. that would make me feel good!
