They need to place Myers on the 15 day DL, and let him clear his head for a few days and then do a “rehab” for a week in the minors where he gets used to being a short reliever again. Then bring him up after the all-star break and slowly work him in until he can take over as a set-up guy for Gordon.

To replace Myers for the 15 days, bring up Happ to pitch in Myers place in the rotation.

Once Myers comes off DL, he takes Condrey’s place.

lidge needs some work, even if its not a save situation. you dont want
your closer to get rusty. i like resting the bullpen but not THIS much.

jimmy has been really bad lately. whens the last good game at the plate he had?

i feel like this team needs a new everyday player in the lineup to add a new dimension that they dont display enough: patience

Jimmy gets the Jeltz award again and not Myers? Man, it sucks cause Lidge hasn’t gotten a safe in a few weeks because they’ve been sucking so bad he gets no save opportunities.

I agree, Myers needs to sit for awhile, and think about what he needs to do to become productive again. However, I was disappointed that Charlie allowed Condrey to come out for a third inning. When I saw him on the hill, I knew it was a mistake, and Texas got to him. Condrey scares me as much as Myers and Flash. OWNERSHIP…..address your pitching please!

The look on Myers’ face in the dugout was one of just total defeat. I felt really bad for him. Everyone knows he is a decent pitcher but it is just not working and no wins are coming out of his spot (not that anyone seems to be recording them these days). It was the exclamation point at the end of my desire to see someone else fill the spot. I think Myers is better off with a phantom injury that lands him on the DL for 15 days, where he gets himself in the role of set up guy. Personally I think Myers as a set up for Lidge would be great.

My feeling is that Chad Durbin will start in the Myers spot next week. I was curious as to why he was not in long releif yesterday (or as to why he didn’t pitch at all). Something tells me that they had a bad feeling going into this one and want him starting next week.

I’m trying to stay as positive as possible during this. We’ve been at much worse spots than this around this time before.

again do the Phils just glide into the allstar break past two years they were in the negative win, don’t they understand that all of the eagles fans are watching and hoping for a plus 16 season even before the season starts. right now we are 6 in the positive, lets try to get two more. I’ll be back monday

To look on the bright side- at least it’s so obvious that Myers can’t be in the rotation that the management will finally have to address it… or will they? I’d like to see him be the set-up man instead of Gordon, or get traded. So will we see Benson, Corrasco, a new veteran (via a trade), or Myers start in 5 days???
