Mike W…to say Schilling isn’t a hall of famer is ridiculous. That guy is one of the top 5 best post season pitchers of all time. He has other ridiculous records too, like 1 of 3 pitchers to have 3 300 or more strike out seasons. He’s 14th of all time in ks. If he didn’t have so many injuries in his career he’d be sitting at well over 300 wins and 4,000ks. To say he shouldn’t make the HOF is like saying Griffey shouldn’t make the HOF.

1. He should not be a hall of famer. I don’t think he should be that close actually.

2. If he is, it should 100% be as a phillie. Not even b/c of the stats, but b/c of the years. If you play 9 years with one team, then 3 with another and 4 with a 3rd, it shouldn’t be a debate I’d hope.

I loved Schilling as a Phillie in the early to mid 90s, but he should probably be in the HOF as a Red Sox. He won two World Series with them and the bloody sock game (despite conspiracy theorists views to the contrary) will go down in sports lore forever. The Hall of Fame is before anything else a sports museum and a place to go and take in baseball history, and Schilling’s place in history for everyone other than us fans here in Philly was cemented as a Red Sox pitcher, not as a Phillies pitcher.

Well Johnson should go in as a D-Back, IMO. Pretty even in service between the Ms and D-Backs, and he won a Series and four Cy Youngs with them.

Schilling had his best years as a Phillie and the best World Series game he pitched was by far in 1993. Not sure he goes to the HOF as one though.

He won his first World Series with the Diamondbacks… he was Co-MVP of the World Series with them too.. I think he should go in as a Diamondback.

Yeah, but they can go by more than just numbers. He had his career year in Arizona. He won’t 2 championships with the BoSox and 1 with the D-Backs. He had all of those legendary games with the BoSox, like the bloody sock. We’ll see what happens.

Well, that’s good. I’d love to see him get signed 2nd half of next season and take us to the World Series. I feel that he has the mentality even if he doesn’t have the stuff still to pitch lights out in the post season. Then he can just retire in a Phillies jersey. I always liked Schilling a lot.
