Of the five names Tim gave to represent the Reading Phillies in the Eastern League All Star game, I think the Phillies may have a look at Lou Marson when the roster expands to 40 on September 1st. Especially if Ruiz continues to hurt the team offensively.

I dont think Favre is coming back, this happens to all retirees. They have an itch when the season comes back around.

I agree about snyder. hes a shrewd businessman who i wouldnt trust to walk my dog but he wants to win and he does not tolerate failure.

they were awesome last year, next year is their year to get to the finals. the penguins lost liek half their team to free agency and marian hossa signed with the red wings.

Andy Reid is arogant and I am not a fan of him, but that is no reason to hate the whole team. I do agree their Ownership is amongst the most Frugal EVER. They owe the city 150 million i believe while playing in a taxpayer finanaced stadium. Also I agree whole heartedly with Sal Palintonio, “Brett Favre is overrated”

The eagles used to do that, until they decided that first round picks arent important because andy reid is so great.

i was born and raised here, and i HATE the eagles because of andy reid. i only like a few of their players who i want to do well. but the coach and ownership are the WORST in professional sports. yes thats right. worst.

the phillies have more of a clue than those guys do

With that said I’m not in favor of trading a couple of prospects for a Rent – a – Pitcher because as we all know we dont give pitchers deals for more than three years and no big name is gonna buy into a 3 year deal and we lose him and the prospects we gave up at the end of the year.

I was all about going all out, which is ok IF they would have taken 2/3 from the red sox, angels, a’s, and ragners. then you know theyre really really close. but they didnt and theyre not close. so why widen the gap in teh future by gettin gsome jerk off who is going to be a free agent in the winter anyway?

I’m all about building from within. I’m a Packers fan, boo me if you’d like, I know the majority here are Eagles fans, but Ted Thompson (GM) emphasizes draft picks and sets his teams up to be great because of his drafts and utilizing every pick.

Exactly. If they unload the farm they will burn out and SUCK for like 5 years and it will be insufferably painful.

Thats why they need to preserve their system, so that they can keep bringing people up and infuse new blood every year and have a continuous young core that lasts long enough to win a championship.

our top prospects are probably as good as almost anyones. but there are only like 5-7 of them. we cant afford to give up 3-4 of them for a starting pitcher. it will destroy our team for years if we do that.
