Eaton Sent Down To Minors

Adam Eaton has been optioned to the Minor Leagues.
Eaton was 4-8 with a 5.80 ERA this season for the Phillies. Yesterday he gave up three earned runs in two innings against the Braves.
The move would likely bring pitcher JA Happ back to the Phils. He was pulled early from his start yesterday. And I say thank you, and good riddance to Adam, who did nothing to show he was a Major League pitcher again this season. We held out hope for him too long, and now he’ll have to figure out if he’s good enough to be a Major League arm again.

You better hope they do not trade Happ. The would be the biggest mistake, besides the trade for Blanton they ever made. Its about time to see what young prospects the big teams normaly trade away can do in the bigs. More teams are starting to see what these small market teams are doing with the big market teams former prospects and realize that its good to have a mix of young talent with veterans.

I wonder what Alfonseca did with that 6th finger when he was alone? 2 girls (or guys) at once? I always thought his slider should have some nasty bite to it, but the little nub just seemed to hinder him. I bet if he cut it off, his ERA would come down a point

The Yankees could not trade or sign a starter if there life depended on it so they went within the system and it seems to be working. And I will say it. Loke how well our GM at the time with Kazmir. I bet Steve Phillips was drinking heavily that night. And thought he was getting Carlos Zambrano.

Bud, that still puts me to sleep at night bc of you had Scott K-K-K-K-(backwards)K-Kazmir and treated him in your system like the Rays did, you would have at least 1 ring, probably 2 and maybe a 3rd this year. Thank GOD we dont have to see him

Ive ALWAYS been a huge Rays guy, yes even when they were cellar dwellers 10 years ago up until this year, and always thought their young pitching was top-flight (as it still is) and my man crushes on James Shields, Kaz, and David Price (all 3 on my fan. team Price waiting on bench) are finally paying off bc this team is sticked full of fucking diamonds

Its too bad it took our teams and the Yankees this long to realize its not about average veterans but its also the young talent or they are tired of seeing how well there former prospects are doing on these small market teams. And look at Florida and Tampa. They are winning with YOUNG PROPECTS! And its about time big market teams are realizing that!

Before I leave to go to Jersey, I am going to leave you with this… may I remind you that Florida is not winning with young prospects. Jorge Cantu, Luis Gonzalez, Kevin Gregg, and Mike Jacobs (who could forget Wes Helms) are no spring chickens… They are winning because they can slug with anyone. Its been fun. Take care EVERYONE.. Go Fightin’ Phils

A lot of those posts last night were unreadable garbage, I just couldnt do it. I second that motion to expel the spamming trash who behave like 14 year olds and hurl insults. Tim, two words: Resgistration Module, registered posters can be booted if they get out of line and turn out to be spamming, insult-hurling 14 year old met fans. Id be all for that. Not perfect, but it will cut down because the trash wont want to keep re-registering after they keep getting booted.

I don’t know Geoff. A lot of these dumb Mets fans obviously have no lives and might keep re-registering.

You’d have to have the username be your email address – that should cut down on re-registering. Blocking the email address is a lot easier than blocking usernames.

Not sure who the IT guy is. Brian maybe? Whoever it is, I’m pushing for a registration method. This blog is too good for all the trash on here.

Right on Mike T. its all about e-mail address blocking. e-mail address blocking is key. Then when theyre ready to roll it out, post a set of guidelines that lays out what will get you blocked/booted. like insulting people for no reason and repeatedly posting insult after insult after insult thats meaningless. Its a lot of extra work but it would clean this blog up a bit.
It is the very best Phillies blog and might even be the best team-centric baseball blog. i dont wanna see it get screwed up by mets trash.

I’m with Mike T, the mutts fans are beginning to irritate. They have their own well written and managed blog, go there and spew your nonsense, please. There must be something we can do to clean this up.

Tim, I know you want this to be an “open blog” — but having a registration screen still makes it open. Anyone can register – you’ll just need a “report this person” link or something petty like that so it will make the monitoring easier. Has to be done.

And there should be a few categories of legitimate offenses presented in a dropdown box so taht mets fans cant report people for no reason.

Would I be allowed to register if I’m a mets fan? You should have a required box so you can who is a fan of what team and such. It would be neat. Like a little profile with the person’s favorite player ( David Wright) Favorite team ( Mets ) Favorite sports moment (Endy Chavez catch)

I agree that some posts here get out of hand,I for one, dont mind the give & take of Met fans on the blog…but keep the subject concentrated on Phillies baseball…not ways to bump off Wheels and Gary Mattews…but mets fans should have to register as met fans..that way there is no bullshit.

Hey, Philliessuck, how do you not even know who traded away Scott Kazmir? It was Dan Duquette, Phillips was already fired by then. How does a Phillies fan know that and you don’t? That’s embarassing.
