ehh the food aint that great there… I guess in terms of ballpark food its pretty good, but it amazes me the number of fat slobs that go to games and just stand in Ashburn Alley eating the entire game… and they rather save their ice-cream helmet then catch a Home Run Ball..

it is good food though. i just acknowledge that whenever i eat it its not going to be healthy in any way.

Geoff that was intense. The Schmitter is delicious though, it would be better if they served Shmidts beer though

tahts what i meant, tim, the private vendord that have stations there. i try not to touch the aramark stuff there when i can help it.

Recycled material doesn’t have to be seperated. Hence, the “no dividers” inside the bin.

Maybe you should watch the news, get with the times or start recycling smartly to inform yourself with these essential facts.

I do recycle, but if its dividing the slots up for bottles, cans, and paper-based trash and you look to see that its all going into the same compartment, then its not really recycling then is it, there chief?

Also, if i wanted to “get informed” the very LAST place i would turn to is the TV news. i would read books and actually study real things. you want to know what the governement is doing? read the laws that they pass, because they wont talk about that on the news.

the only thing they talk about on the news is some distraction (britney spears, etc) and some divisive issue to get poeple to hate each other (election) and something to get us to hate other countries (war). thats really all youll see on TV news. none of it is informative and most of it isnt even truthful. compelte garabge.

go read, thats where real information comes from, not the television.

My wife is vegetarian. Speaking for her, she really appreciates the veggie dogs on dollar dog day.

If nothing else, CBP is the best stadium I’ve been to in terms of having a good day at the park. Good food, good draft beers if you look around, not a bad seat in the house, and if you want to stand, you can get a $75 view for $12. It almost makes you think they designed it that way because the team is usually terrible.

The food at the bank is good. We always go early to watch BP and sit a Harry the K’s and eat a cheesesteak.

It used to be great when you could get 24oz drafts there for $6.25, but it seems like they’ve scaled them back to 20 oz now. 1.66 beers for $6.25 now instead of 2 beers. Still not a bad deal for a ballpark and they’re usually really cold.

As for veggie food. I have no idea. I would touch it if it was free.

Anyone else here ever take a family of four to the ballpark? Seats, parking, food and drinks will set you back close to $150 or more. Seems to me CBP is more suited to the younger singles crowd.

The Thressers at Brighthouse Field offer a $25 package including dogs, popcorn, drinks (no beer), seats and programs for a family of four. But that’s A ball and a 1,000 miles away. Although it is an enjoyable evening out watching the baby Phils.

Do the Phils offer anything like that at CBP?

..I love walking around and getting a $75 view anywhere you go.can you think of any other stadium like it?
The food is coronary buster stuff ..so what?thats what you expect at a ballpark.theres always beer nearby so quit complaining.

Richie Allen: As far as any other stadium like it, Camden Yards in Baltimore was the prototype of new stadiums. Although I like the overall feeling at CBP more, most of the new stadiums owe a bit of gratitude to HOK (the architect at CY) for their designing of the new model stadium at CY.

That said, not a single thing was overlooked in the design of CBP. It is a near perfectly-designed stadium.

Fred – Seriously if you think CBP is expensive, you couldn’t even get 4 tickets for a Red Sox game at Fenway for $150. It has to have the most ridiculously expensive tickets and concensions (not to mention the beer is flat and warm most of the time) in MLB.

CBP is pretty reasonable for MLB parks.

Just don’t let the kids eat so much cotton candy! ;-)

I think it was Mike T who first raised the issue of expense for food at a M.L. ballpark. With exorbitant prices at concession stands (how much is a hot dog there compare to a fast food restaurant?), most families of say…four would probably lose a day’s salary earned at a workplace (chuckling). I’m sure that Tim’s “dining” experience there was enjoyable in his disregard of cost. He probably can afford it and as Fred posted..”Seems to me CBP is more suited to the younger singles crowd”… or in short the Yuppies. (smiling) Oh to be sure, with thirty plus sellouts at CBP, the Phillies organization (+owners) are quite contend with concessionary profits.

Concessions have very little impact on the team’s payroll. In fact, the majority of the team’s money doesn’t come from ticket sales either- it’s television contracts. Which of course answers why the Yankees have so much money. I believe the Phillies contract with Comcast is up after this season. We’ll see where that takes us.

I think the prices in general are just crazy… I often just go with the guys instead of taking the fiance for the simple fact that taking her means paying $50 for tickets, $10+ for parking, a couple beers, hot dogs, pretzels or whatever and you’re talking another $50..

I’d love to take her to Flyers games too, but at $50 a piece for the upper levels.. and all the parking and concessions… its a $200 date… we just bought a house and a high-def TV and whatnot, so most of my sports watching is going on from my couch this year.. with a hand down my pants…

I honestly can’t wait for CitiField to open next season.It is being paraded as potentially the “Greenest” park in the majors.I know this is a tag based on food,but I honestly hope the Amazins have Rusty Staub in mind because he has the tastiest ribs I ever had in NY. Now on the vagiterian front….Its never gonna happen but it’d sound funny having vendors yell “Tofu Heeeeeeere!Get your tofu here”.Plus make my steak medium rare.
