He’s actually pitched 7 games, 7.2 innings of 3-hit, no-run ball. Not 5.2.

Nice, castro did a decent job last year up here. i expect more from him this year. carpenter was ok, but you could see hes not quite ready to come in and crisply breeze through an inning.

Eyre has done a really nice job. I was not in favor of this trade really but I thought hed be just ok, jsut another arm in the mix. but hes definitely a little bit more than that. hes pretty good for his role.

and Mike, be honest.. when they signed Jenkins as a platoon guy in the offseason, you thought he would be a lock for 20+ HR just like the rest of us… you win some, you lose some.. and it happens to EVERY team in baseball when they acquire guys

Gillick seems to have a great knack for picking up under-the-radar pitchers to help out late in the season – Moyer, Lohse, now Eyre. If only that translated to good free agent signings in the off season…

A nice pick up, especially as we didn’t have to give up any prospects to get him, just pick up his salary. Shame we haven’t acquired another outfield bat/glove/pinch runner yet. It’d be nice if we had some viable alternative when Burrells slumping (as he is currently).
