Gamenight: Dodgers (65-64) At Phillies (70-59)

The Phillies’ bats remained hot with a 9-2 victory yesterday. Pat Burrell tied a career high with 5 RBI. Tonight the Phils face Hiroki Kuroda, who blinded the Phils with a 7 K, 1 ER performance a week and a half ago. He had three consecutive dominant starts, but was tripped up Tuesday by the Rockies. Joe Blanton, who struggled Tuesday against the Nationals, goes for the Phils. It’s an ESPN game — lately the Worldwide Leader has been kind to the Phils.
Ham Company: With Cole Hamels’ win yesterday, the Phillies became the third National League team with three 11-game winners (Kyle Kendrick, Jamie Moyer the others; Cubs, Cardinals the teams).
The Bat’s Feat: Pat Burrell’s home run yesterday gives him 30 for the fourth time. His career high is 37 (2002).
Great Pitching: The Phillies have a 2.51 ERA in their last nine games.
Phillies: Joe Blanton (6-12) 4.87 ERA
Dodgers: Hiroki Kuroda (7-9) 3.97 ERA
Gametime: 8:05 p.m. EST
Weather: 79, sunny
TV: ESPN
Lineup:
MLB TV
MLB Gameday Audio

Your gamenight beer: For some reason Pete’s Wicked Strawberry Blonde gets hammered by beer critics, but I don’t really mind it. It’s your standard strawberry ale, but not that strong with the fruit and pretty drinkable overall. I’d easily prefer this than any garden variety “lime” beer, though it’s not on par with regular old Blue Moon and such. Your food pairing: a chicken Caesar salad.
Go Phillies!

i thought this guy was done in may, and since that houston series when charlie called him out, hes turned his season and career around. hes really turned into a dynamic dangerous contact first hitter. just waht this team needs more of. still a few rough spots here and there but hes really come a long way this year. he is UNTOUCHABLE in the offseason. i want him kept around for a while.

Victorino IS THE MAN…. He’s an amazing, fast, competitive, well-rounded player who really gets into the game…something Mr.Rollins apparently forgot

Do they have Coste bunt here to put Vic on 3rd with one out? Even though Werth has struggled today, I think he could get it done. However, if he didn’t, our pinch hitter would likely be Cole Hamels since we’re out of bench players. I think you let Coste swing away and hope he gets a single, but at the least, moves the runner over.

Victorino has been the unsung hero. He seems to be coming up with all of the big clutch situations as of late.

Manny, obviously we’re on the same page as Charlie. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, though :)

Hamels is the best hitting pitcher we have, so yes, he will pinch hit.

If metsblog is so good then please go there and don’t let the door knob hit you in the asshole. PS. Did someone say that Ayala is “god”. I guess “god” was moonlighting as a 5.14 era pitcher on the worst team in baseball a couple weeks ago.

lol…that was funny, that guy ^^
Ayala is no more of a “God” than Scott Eyre. A pleasant surprise, maybe, but the guy was a National and he’s been with the Mets for a week or two. He hasn’t even had a real opportunity to blow games for them yet.

Okay, back to Pedro. A Feliz walk-off would be not quite the same “titties,” but since they’re titties, they’re still pretty sweet.
