Scocsia plays small ball also, there the phils woiuld sputter becasue (along with being softies) they suck at situtational hitting and directing a ball to a side of the field.

The pitching (all around) has been very good when looking back at past staffs. blanton also needs to lose 20lbs, my ass he is the 235 as listed in media guides.

To get back to the subject of” WHATS WRONG”lately….Im telling you guys the entire pitching picture is not bad this year,Bullpen has been great and starters adequate if we hit.
Take last night,Blanton sucks I heard everyone say, but if the Phils hit,as they were set up to do,we win 80% of those games.
You can micro all aspects of the pitching staff,But I cringe anymore when Utley,Howard,Rollins,Burrell come up with runners in scoring position .

But I think we all agree that if we score 5+ runs we can win everynight.. and with this offense we should be around 3-4 runs even on a bad night.. Lets hope they pick this back up!!

Overall, Charlie has been a great fit as manager of this team.. its noted that he can flip out on players behind closed doors, but doesn’t do so in front of the cameras..

Lots of managers have won with this style, Francona, Torre, Bob Brenly D’backs..

But Lots have with the in-your-face too.. Ozzie Guillen, recently among them

I wouldn’t say that LaRussa or Jack McKeon are all that much different than Manuel in the way they handled their teams in public view.. and none of us know what goes on behind closed doors…
