Great game by Moyer and Dobbs. But some of the luster was lost by the game 2 loss. Fans were really hoping for a sweep. Imagine the NY headjobs after that. The Phils have to keep the offense awake and keep winning. Look at the Met’s final 7 games; 4 vs the Cubs and 3 vs Florida. Without Wagner, it smells like a 2nd collapse in the making. Phils’ final 6 games; 3 Atlanta and 3 Washington.

Jamie Moyer, it’s such a shame this guy won’t get too far on the ballot for the hall because this guy is everything good about the game of baseball in one ageless lefty. He’s not just having a good but incredible year for any pitcher and a projected just under 200 innings is as mindblowing as the number of innings Cole is projected at.

I thought he was going to be yanked after the 6th but to get that extra inning in in such a crucial game says more about the man than we can.

We own the mets nice one. The mets and marlins own us this year. Hopefully the phillies wake up chase utley and howard and win tonight and get hot.We have to face the marlins, brewer.Those games will probley win or lose the division for us . the two losses in washington still haunt me.

A win for the Phils tonight has the potential to be devastating for the Mets. After the way last year ended, they went and signed Santana for exactly this situation, preventing a sweep to the Phils in September during a tight division race. I’d love to see the Phils get a couple runs in the first few innings, even if its only like 2 in the first 4 or 5 innings. They just need to give Hamels a little something to work with and see what he can do with it.

The afternoon win was huge but tonight’s game with both team’s aces throwing is huge for momentum. Can’t wait to see what Hammy can do tonight.

Unless if the Phils clinch, I will not be sitting easy. We don’t own the Mets at all this season. They won the season series no matter how you slice it. They came back and won some big games against us. It was as we all predicted: a tough battle. Until it is clinched, nothing is sitting pretty.

I wouldn’t go that far. I don’t think we own them at all really. Up til this series they’ve somewhat beaten up on us this year. I’ve been saying it for about 2 months now but I think we might as well fast forward to the last couple days of the season, because I think that’s what it comes down to. Even if the Phils were to win tonight and then go up by a game or 2 this week, I quickly see them coming right back down because that’s how it’s been for months now. Both teams have been inconsistent.

I told everyone not to worry about the Mets! This next game tonight is the one we should be worried about though. The Mets are a great team, and I’m not taking anything away from their credibility, but I think at this point, we own them.
