Feliz wasn’t brought here for his offense… you knew he would be a .250 ish, 15-20 HR, 60 RBI guy … his numbers were .248, 14 HR, 58 RBIs thanks to a DL-stint.

He is exactly the type of “puzzle piece” that won’t win you a title, but that you can’t win one without.. if that makes any sense. I think it was a GREAT pickup for multiple reasons

Feliz will not light the world on fire offensively, but he is certainly clutch. I can recall about 5 HUGE clutch hits that Feliz has had this season, and that is even with his stint on the DL. I think Feliz was a great move for many reasons, but mainly because it bolstered our bench by allowing Dobbs to be the first pinch hitter off the bench. Also, he is a GREAT defensive player worthy of Gold Glove consideration, although David Wright will probably get it because he is the national sweetheart.

But I still don’t like felix . His offense isn’t to me very good . His fielding is real good. I hope will can find a better opition in the future.

Lidge pointed out about ruiz. he can throw his slider and not fear it will bounce and get passed ruiz. He said ruiz is as good or better than asmus. With a man on third he doesn’t fear to bounce a pitch which is important.

I just knew that we were better than the Mets, thanks in large part to Billy Wagner getting hurt… and I thought we were better than the Brewers too… so I was pretty sure we’d get in the playoffs somehow.

My whole thing was that I didn’t think we had seen the team play at their highest level to that point before the Brewers series, and they once again saved the best for last… hopefully they don’t have the same type of hangover that they did last year.. but that was because of two things.. 1, the Rockies were as hot as any team has ever been. 2, They were so excited to just get in the playoffs, that they thought they had accomplished SOMETHING, when really they hadn’t.

From everything i’ve read, the post-game celebration was great, but players seemed to indicate that they have lots of work to be done, and anything short of a World Series run is a disappointment.

I’m just glad they backed-up my claims that the GM knows what he’s doing, the players love playing for Manuel (as much as we hate some of his in-game moves), that Pedro Feliz was a VERY SMART addition to this team, Ruiz is in the game for his defense and showed it again with multiple blocks on Lidge-pitches, etc.. This isn’t the greatest team in history, and yes, they have holes.. BUT so does every other team.. and I think we might see the Phillies make a pretty good run right now!!!

Going back to the weather issue – forecast says t-storms tomorrow at 3PM! Anyone know what happens if this is the case? Will it be rain delayed or postponed?

the brewers could be ruining gallardo’s career by rushing him back like this. really poor move by their organization, especially when you consider how important he’ll be to their plans after this season. patience will definitely be key for the phillies against him, try to chip away a few runs, and then unload on the bullpen. also like jim said, lay down some bunts at the gallardo and see if he can field at all in this condition.

I watch Galladro last year and the fact of the matter is he is nothing short of a Bonafide Ace prior to the knee injury. I am confident that if he hadnt got hurt this year, the brewers wouldnt have had to go after Sabathia

Now did they decide on this guy because he is the unknown, and may have success because we have never seen him before, or because Jeff Suppan blows? What an absolute waste that signing was – It just goes to show you what happens when you do a good job in a contract year.

Anyway, I don’t see why we shouldn’t win this series, but we have to do it out on the field. We can’t underestimate the Brewers, they have some offensive power, and they hit lefties well.

as much as we’re on-board with a Phillies win , and a sweep….. about two weeks ago, we weren’t sure if we were going to even win the series against them at CitizensBankPark… I highly doubt we’ll sweep them, but I really hope we’ll beat them.. and I think we will

the phillies never do well against young guns that they haven’t seen before. so i think the strategy for the phillies lineup should be to be really patient and take lots of pitches and work counts and get into that terrible bullpen of theirs

All these dudes on the radio were picking the Brewers some dude at my work was listening to it.. I didn’t think it was 610wip, so i assumed it was 950espn… I just heard them saying all this stuff about “house money” and the dude told me they were all picking the Brewers.. so much for that though

Gallardo is NASTY.. when healthy.. so he’ll be on a pitch-count. I thin last week he was on 70 pitches?? So if we can stay patient at the plate, and have the top of our lineup take pitches, and work the count.. we can maybe have him out around the 4th inning, and just work their bullpen.

Sabathia is an absolute STUD, so Myers in game #2 is crucial..

Everything else should favor the Phillies, especially the fact that everyone is picking the BrewCrew cause they are “playing with house money”… as though that is something different than what EVERY team is doing. Time to step up and play ball Phillies.. I’ve been a strong supporter of these players all season long, and I’d love for them to play they way we all know they are capable of!!!

You never know though. I looked at Weather.com and it’s showing that Philly is expecting scattered T-storms all afternoon until the evening. So maybe the game will get off to a late start and you’ll be able to catch the whole thing.
