Your gameday beer: Beck’s Oktoberfest is a pretty god Oktoberfest-style beer. As we wind down here in 2008, I’ll be feeding you all a bunch of Oktoberfests, because they’re so appropriate now. Here’s hoping Happ can go six, get a lead and shut ‘em down. Let’s get a big one tonight. Oh, eat a grilled steak with this.
Go Phillies!

It’d be real nice to get an insurance run here for Madson. I don’t like the idea of one swing tying this thing up. Especially with McCann due up.

Well, I see Madson follows the Brad Lidge School of Closing. Give the fans an aneurysm before you finish it. Hopefully.

So Taguchi had to give up his translator when he was sent down to the minors for a brief interval. He says that’s when he finally learned to speak English.

I’ve heard Taguchi give interviews in English before and I remember him on the podium after he homered off of Wagner in the 2006 NLCS.
Tad Iguchi on the other hand..

On a closer slow-motion replay, it hit the top of the padding and not the pole. Madson, get out of this and say a thank you prayer to Jobu.

yeah, I’m not sure why they didn’t replay it. I’ll take it though, and TV replays show it was the right call.

Still plenty of ball to play in New York, Harry. Don’t speak too soon.

That was an excellent call by that 3rd base ump. I thought it hit the yellow of the foul pole myself.
