I don't understand how so many of you can be so against him. For the most part, he is quite good at shutting down an opposing team's offense. If you tell a team your starter will go 7 innings, and give up 2 ER, they will gladly take it. Hamels consistently goes deep into games for this team, but when he pitches, he gets very little run support. The team had scored 11 runs in their previous 2 games, and to only manage 2 runs against Hampton is sad for how potent this lineup Should be. They can score runs at will, then on nights when Cole pitches, they forget how to swing the bats.
Maybe Cole should give up 5, 6, or 7 runs in a game. The offense seems to be able keep up when pitchers give up that amount.
To Sum Up: The offense consistently does nothing for run support when Hamels is on the mound. He does his job at keeping the opponent to maybe 2 or 3 runs, and keeping the Phillies there to win it, the offense just doesn't come through for him.

I’m a big fan of Cole. Being a solid pitcher, or an ''Ace'' you have to consistent, and patient (and cole is neither). How can he be considered our ace, when his last few outings, in which we needed him the most, he falls to shit? I'm not saying he's a bad pitcher, but he's not our ace. The guy is highly (points to the sky) over-rated.

Cole litteraly threw away the game when he over threw the pickoff to Feliz…I mean, he had him by a mile!
