The Phils have crushed the Braves all year, so let’s hope that trend continues. Hopefully the Cubbies won’t clinch the division before the Mets come in, so they’ll have to pitch Zambrano and their good starters.

Yes, I agree that a lot of fans on this site had mailed it in after the Nationals loss and the Marlins day game loss.
What a difference 4 games can make. But I’m not overplaying our hand, because I agree that the Brewers were totally listless.
The Braves and Marlins will certainly play better and we need a successful road trip.
It is nice to see those last 6 games at home, it sounds as if the Phils are starting to feed off the crowd a little.

Big days today from Blanton and Myers (7 and 9 IP) to rest our weary pen (especially Durbin and Romero) an extra day

Real Mets Fan, I agree. I don’t care how you get into the playoffs because either way you’re in. From that point on, it is fair game.

If the Phils and Mets were tied for both Wildcard and Division on the last day, I would honestly say have the division if it meant saving our pitchers for the playoffs so there is no 1 game playoff.

AHA….So it all comes down to this fact…..Never ….get down on the Phils,cause you never know…All we needed was a chance because deep down this is a pretty good team ….. Our pitching is holding us together.And weve been getting timely hitting.

Real Mets Fan,

I was thinking the same thing sorta about the Brewers. Although we missed Sabathia and Sheets was off his game, the Brewers just seemed to be playing jumpy and uptight. They’re not playing like playoff caliber teams (not that we are)….

And I honestly think an NLCS between our two teams would be extremely exciting. It’ll be heartbreaking for whoever loses, but man would it be damn good baseball.

I can’t wait to hear what the Muts fans have to say when we get to the playoffs again. We were aparently lucky that the Muts choked last year, and I’m sure they’ll say the same about the Brewers collapse. They fail to notice the Phils record in September last year, and that this year, we have come up big when it mattered (ie: the sweep of the Brewers.) Yes, the Phils are definately fortunate that their opponents are giving them opportunities late in the season. but the Phils are taking advantage of them. That’s huge. that’s what makes them a playoff team.

congrats to you phillies for sweeping the brewers and helping yourselves and the mets with this sweep. (How the mets are now the wild card leaders by one game) The mets played the brewers last week and also swept then in a three game series. Put aside the mets phillies battle for a second and let me ask ALL phillie phans this question: How uninpresed were you with the brewers, and how many of you yhought to yourselves THIS TEAM SUCKS HOW THE HELL ARE THEY WINNING THE WILD CARD AT THIS POINT IN THE SEASON? As a mets fan as All mets fans we were not impressed. We all thought they sucked. Once again congrats. The mets and phillies in a NLCS championship series??? Awesome, bring it on.

Ha! My girlfriend is from North Jersey and obviously they are all Yankees, Mets, and Giants fans up there. She isn’t a fan of anything really. But I’m converted her into a Phillie fan. She roots for them, watches them now when she gets them up there. She actually yells at the TV when something goes wrong more then me!

She loves going to the ballpark. She loves the Phanatic. The only thing she hates is rivalries and trash talking, because she’s obviously a NYC gal. So the only games she refuses to go to are Phils Vs. Mets games.
