i remember earlier this year when the majority of the people on here wanted to trade howard. i told them to be patient and guaranteed that his numbers would be atleast .250 , 45, 130. he’s doing even better than that.

Burrell isn’t in howard’s league as a clutch hitter. This is going to be interesting, I really am starting to believe the phillies let howard walk . It will be the biggest mutiny in history. the fans won’t let them get away with it.

Geoff has a point, when Howard was striking out 3-4 times a game, alot of people had him out of here, and now are doing the same thing with Burrell.

sure, you all have, just maybe not on here. his nadir this season was worse than before. people were pissed..

it makes no sense to trade him if hes under team control for a while longer and playing well and youre not going to get a young ace under team control for him…

How sweet it is! First place, but not without adventure. But Burrell, 5 ABs, 5 SO — perhaps its time to ride the bench for a game or 2.

Moyer was due for an off-night, but the offense didn’t quite. Howard at 4-5 with the decisive homer. Maybe he’ll miss getting 200 strikeouts.

Was that game a roller coaster ride or what? That was the 2nd best game of the year (behind the comeback win against the Mets). At this point Howard is crushing competition for the MVP, meanwhile Burrell needs to sit out a few games, and put Werth in LF, and Dobbs in RF, and use Burrell in pinch hit sitiations.

This was easily the most stomach turning game I have seen in a while and something tells me there are more to come. Lidge’s 37th save was vintage Mitch Williams. But he found a way to get out of it!
