It’s time for us to do a little damage this time around…Game 1 is a must win because CC Sabathia is most likely pitching Game 2 and having to face him down 0-1 and then having to head out to Milwaukee can be very ugly.

Those words about the Mets are so true. Couldn’t argue with anything. I was coming here expecting a bashing and rubbing it in our faces, but you guys handled it very classy. Can’t wish you guys good luck in the playoffs, but, you guys did what you had to do to get in, and we didn’t.

“I won’t lie, there’s a part of me that has a sick pleasure in the Mets not making it.” what fan isn’t….Many fans (and I seen some in here give the “in your face” type rants) do that.Thats part of being a fan.Am I a fan of the Phillies….No,however…I do have respect for certain players because they do the job,are that damn good.I did go to opening day at Shea back in 82 and saw 3 HoFers from the Phillies…..Pete Rose,Steve Carlton and Michael Jack Schmidt.Phillies do have a great past and with what they have (we’ll descuss F/A and ownerships later after the playoffs) and with players like Utley,Rollins and Howard I’ll add Hamels too have a solid future and looking forward to our very own Yanks/Red Sox type rivalry.

Grumpy, I’ve stated time and time again that although I’m a huge Philly fan through and through, I’m a bigger fan of the game itself. When I was in college, I was part of the radio station in the sports department. I did play by play and color commentary, pregame/halftime/postgame analysis, and general sports talk radio. So I learned very quickly how to see the bigger picture and respect all fanbases and their fans.

I won’t lie, there’s a part of me that has a sick pleasure in the Mets not making it. That goes without saying as an opposing fan. But I don’t feel that it helps or proves anything to gloat and kick them when they’re down.

I remember watching the Royals/Phils back in 80….and yes I admit I wanted the royals to win…..but thats neither here nor there.I did see 1986 and thats the only baseball championship I lived to see (Including the Islanders Dynasty).I do feel your pain because My teams haven’t won JACK in 22 years.

Grumpy, you forget that I’m a Philly fan. Haven’t seen a championship in my entire lifetime (born December ’83).

So my entire sports fan life has been nothing but heartbreak. As I said in an earlier post to you, I sympathize from the standpoint of how it stings and feels.

Grumpy, I know after those 3 straight painful NFC Championship losses for the Eagles and then the following Superbowl loss, I sworeI was done with football and the Eagles each time until next year. Then I found myself reading the papers and watching all of the coverage the next day.

Being a fan is the ups and the downs, and unless you win it all every single year, it’s more or less 95% downs.
