Does anyone have a combined ERA for the bullpen after Moyer’s starts? I’m trying to get a sense of whether the high number of W’s despite going deep too often is linked to batters hitting two or three times against his slow stuff and then moving onto heat. I’m sure it’s linked to a certain extent, but I’m curious as to how it compares to the average relief pitcher’s ERA.

I agree that his game is based on balls and making guys swing at poor offerings, but when he has a 2:1 strike:ball ratio, he is very effective and seems to get to the seventh. His approach tonight should be that 2:1.

I agree with Evan. Don’t expect Moyers throwing plenty of strikes and striking out people. Hopefully, he’ll just play as usual and give the offense a good chance to win the game.

I think the bats will set it up. I think Moyer goes 6 with a good enough outting. I like how this team is going into the final days, which I think is the reason I think they”ll take it from the Mets. It’s just a matter of which team is hot at the right time.

Moyer doesn’t pitch to throw a lot of strikes and be aggressive. He can’t pitch to the middle of the plate without getting beat up and he just misses with a lot of his pitches when he’s trying to hit the corners.

After he pitched against the Brewers last week on three days rest, I don’t expect him to go deeper than he has been going all year. Six innings is the best you can expect from Moyer, its how he’s been successful so far.
