C.J. Henry, I know we traded for Blanton for October ball, but don’t you want your best horses in the race? If your theory was what decided who got the ball, Adam Eaton would be starting because we pay him 8 mil a season. Just because we traded for the guy doesn’t make him the best man to do the job. I am not saying whether we have a better shot with Happ or Blanton, but I think it deserves serious thought from the coaching staff. We need to get our best player out there, not the guy we paid the most for, or to.

Unless we gave up Adam Eaton and a 6 pack for Blanton, we overpaid.

I just hope Blanton can hold teams under 5 runs to give the offense a chance to win it for him. His record was 4-0 in 13 starts, but he could have easily been 2-7 or worse.

get out of here. blanton is a solid four or five. the phillies are EIGHT AND FOUR in his starts. they probably wouldn’t have made the playoffs without him. cardenas was realistically our fourth or fifth best prospect, outman is nothing more than a loogy, and the other guy was our fourteenth best prospect?? whoever came up with that ranking knows absolutely nothing about our system.

Just looked up Blanton stats. 33 Starts. only 14 quality starts that stinks.I Don’t want to hear he is a four or five, we gave up our top prospect our seventh and fourteenth for this guy. If we don’t get a better starter for next year mets will win. or marlins.

KM, I think we need to give that role to Blanton. This is what we traded for, a pitcher for October ball. When he’s on, he is as good as alot of pitchers in this league. I just hope Hamels and Myers get going. We need them.

Automatically Blanton, it’s not like Garland where the Angels interest is pretty much done with him eligable for FA.

Glad to hear the prospects may actually reap some rewards, and not stew away and do nothing.

Happ definitely deserves to make the playoff roster. If nothing else, he becomes the long man, if one of the pitchers gets yanked early. I have a lot of confidence in Happ, although his few relief appearances this season left a lot to be desired. Does he get consideration as the 4th starter, or does that role automatically go to Blanton?

Marlins will finish off the Mets today, and we will be celebrating the division by the 3rd inning(due to rain delay). I will probably never say this again, but GO FISH!

There’s space for Happ on the play-off roster. The AFL assignment is a blessing in disguise for Kendrick as he’ll be the most experienced guy in the league and could donimate giving a platform the future.

I like Kyle, but its for the best of the team. He’s still young, and has plenty of a career in front of him. He has really struggled lately, and he does need to work on a few things.

The only downside of this is it could effect his confidence. Hopefully that is not the case with Kendrick, and he could be ready to go in the rotation next April.

As for Eaton, well, uh.. he really shouldn’t even be on a major league roster in the first place.

And for Happ, I don’t know if I want him on the Playoff roster or not. The rotation should only be 3-4 guys with more off days during the playoffs. Plus, Happ as struggled coming out of the bullpen.
