TO me this is a no-brainer. Seanez is experienced but why not have a long man? Myers is far from certain to be steady on thursday. Blanton is being saved for game 4 in case he has to go out there. why not? id always take a guy with good stuff over the junk that rudy seanez throws. you know i dont like juinkballers, but one is enough. and rudy seanez sure as hell is no jamie moyer.

I think Greg is exactly right. If Myers is overthrowing from the gate, and alternating between balls in the dirt and homeruns, then it’s Happ time. They’d be smart to have him warmed up like he’s starting that game.

I have tickets to game two, and I have NO IDEA what to expect. Headcase Myers vs. Sabathia on short rest for the fourth straight time. Could be 17-2 Phils. Could be 17-2 Brewers. Could be anything.

Happ will essentially be what Lohse was to Kendrick last year….hopefully with better results.

The way I look at it, we’re screwed if we need Rudy or Haap so might as well bring the future along for the ride.

The playoff rosters are allowed to be changed between each series, so if they wanted Happ for the NLCS, they could’ve bumped Seanez then. I’m not sure I love this move, but hopefully the Phillies will not need either of them.

Brewers crush lefties, but I think this move was made with an eye towards the later playoff rounds. Seanez had a decent season, but I honestly have more trust in Happ to get the job done. When Seanez comes in the game I cringe, although he has only let us down a few times this season. Happ is the unknown, and as a strikeout pitcher, he may be able to give us valuable innings in relief against a team that isn’t real patient at the plate.

I agree that it does seem odd, given the fact that we have 2 lefties already, but Happ will be there to pick up the pieces if Myers or Blanton get blown up.

I think Happs the better choice because the Brew Crew has never faced while they have faced Seanez because he’s been around for like 50 years and he can be shakey at times.
