Geoff says “This is why we were hard on this team sometimes, because we knew they had the capability.” No, moron. You were hard on them because you don’t know any better. You boo and bitch and hate your players and then when they are good, you cheer and pretend that it never happened. That’s why players hate Philadelphia. That’s why the United States hates Philadelphia fans. Notice nobody watched the World Series? Why? Because the country is tired of listening to you bitch. I’m glad you one, now maybe you can start acting like normal citizens and fans and stop killing cops, booing everyone and terrorizing opposing fans. Here’s to real America.

Yes, Gary B. I made a mistake typing. Shoot me. Wait, you are a Philly fan, so you might. Don’t you have to get ready to boo Burrell in April? Or does he get a pass for a few months? Let’s see, how long was Mike Schmidt’s pass?

Jack — We’re passionate, ’nuff said. You can’t speak on behalf of all Philly fans, some are just straight up idiots. But this is a great city, and we have great people.
The Phillies worked hard for this win, and we supported them. We’ll continue to support all of our teams. People across America that aren’t a part of our fanbase will continue to hate us, and say that we’re terrible.
Like anything else, it’s easy for the media to spread how terrible all of us fans are.
Say what you want, but we’re champs, and we love our city and all of it’s teams.
Lets go Phils, Eagles, Flyers, Sixers!!!

Fans are very fickle when it comes to cheering and booing.Whether you are an Amazins fan,Phillies fan,Cubs fan, even Royals fans (yes they do have fans too) you boo if any player doesn’t deliver and go nuts when that player gets the big hit,a great play or a win……..Its the nature of the beast when it comes to sports.

You have to love the fans in the stadium booing Selig during the trophy presentation, us Philly fans will not change no matter how bad or good it gets and that’s such a credit to the city.
On could 9 this morning, the Phils really earned this championship as an organisation. We’ve critisized a hell of a lot of the moves, decisions and commitments of the players at times but we’ve been taught the ultimate show a little faith. Next year I hope we pick-up where we’ve left of but if we start 0-4 don’t care because we’re World Champions!
It’s on you now Ruben

Hey guys, I hope that you post parade pix on Friday so that this Phillies fan in Israel can Kvell (Yiddish for well up with pride). There are quite a few Mets and Yankees fans here that don’t wanna hear me!
This team did it — Pat “the Bat” said it best on MLB; a different guy stepping up in the clutch in each game (or half-game for that matter). Man, I hope that he’s here next season.
Man, just reel those names off — Moyer, Myers, Madson, Romero, Lidge, Utley, Rollins, Howard, “Bat”, Feliz, Ruiz….
This trumps 1980!
Way to Go PHILLIES!

I did not even know what to do with myself last night. I just sat there with a big grin on my face and a couple tears in my eyes. It is so unbelievable that I feel like I must be dreaming right now at work. The only part that pains me is that I had to move to Rochester, NY in September, but I’ve watched along on MLB.tv and now…I feel vindicated. I think Pat Gillick owed us this one after ’93 :). The Phillies are the best baseball team in the world! How great is that?

This is so great I cant describe it……..but do we have to put up with these trolls even after we won the series…Were #1 and they are still giving us static..unbeleivable.
I feel best for Burrell..the guy was obviously trying too hard…to have the hit that produced the winning run is tremendous.
You couldnt write a better story for hollywood.

Is it bad that the first thing I thought of when I woke up, before that we’re World Champions; the first thing I thought of was that Pat Burrell missed his shot at Philadelphia folklore by about a foot. I really wanted that for him. It was the one missing piece.
I’ll take it though.
WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!

I want to get a t-shirt with Ruiz’s number, no matter where it goes from here we’re always going to to remember him stepping up in the play-offs. When we think Jenkins we don’t think the high price tag, his struggles or the emergence of Jayson Werth, we think of a pinch-hit lead-off double to ignite the Phillies Championship winning night.
Last night really makes you appreciate the guys who ge forgotten, does anyone even care Ryan Howard was 0-4 with 3Ks??? Hell no!!

RIDICULOUS, I cannot believe what I heard this morning on XM. The Tampa Bay Rays are in the process of appealing the outcome of Game 5 based on the way ti was played. Are you serious? What a BUNCH OF SOUR SPORTS.

There’s no way they can take this away from the Phillies, Joe Maddon is a complete asshole if he files a protest.

They didn’t get into any specifics, let alone their sources but they talked about it for a good 5 minutes. Unreal. I’m nto too worried but who knows with the way Bud Selig runs this league!

I’d head straight there Scott, the appeal if it is true will come to nothing. If it is true though that’s a really poor attitude from the Rays, you’d expect more from them.

Way it was played?? Are you serious?? I sort of respected Maddon before but now I have no respect for him at all. The way he handled the press on Monday night and now this….if it is true…

I agree Chuck, I really didn’t know much about him before the Series, but he always seemed intelligent and classy, guess my instincts were wrong on him, he was not cool last night with his smarmy attitude.
