Is Ryan Getting His Groove Back?

Ryan Howard hit his first postseason home run last night, a solo shot in the sixth inning that put the Phillies up 4-1. It came off a hanging slider by Matt Garza, and it followed a two-hit night in game two.
Is Howard getting the swing back?
“It’s been kind of a slow but steady process. I had some good swings out there today and luckily for me was able to get a home run out of it. I’m feeling pretty good at the plate. It’s definitely coming.”
I’ll take the man’s word. If he can be a tiny bit more patient out there, I’d say he’s doing his job. For now, I’m thinking another bomb (or two) isn’t far away for the big man.

Agreed. I can see him hitting another one tonight. I haven’t seen much of this Sonnanstine guy but I feel like he’s going to struggle to get a QS tonight. Hopefully Blanton will do his job and keep us in it tonight.

NEPA, I just posted on another thread that Sonnanstine can be really annoying with his “craftiness.” Saw him last year at Camden Yards and he dominated the Orioles (ok….it’s the O’s…..but still…..). We need to get to him early and mess him up if we can.

As much as Ryan can do himself he needs to be a force at the plate to make the guys around him better. If the Rays pitchers start to feel the pressure of pitching to him Utley and Burrell will be that much better.
