Your Gamenight Beer
Here’s a Philadelphia genuine: Extra Special Ale from Yards. I’ve recommended this before, as it’s a very good, bitter, pale beer. But what I really recommend tonight is a Phillies win. One win, and the Phils are in the World Series. Come on, guys. Let’s do this. Get it done. One win. Hopefully we’ll be celebrating all night. This is our moment. No more short sentences — LET’S GO PHILLIES!
Go Phillies!

God I have a bad week for fall break. Home in Wilkes-Barre rather than in Philly, but should be a great night. We’ve bought some champagne to pop open if the boys are doing it as well later tonight….
Go Phils!

I’ve got my champagne and beer goggles ready for the locker room celebration. *Knock on wood*
I don’t want to jinx or anything but allow me to share this. I’ve always thought that its best when the home team can clinch at home, you see the crowd cheering as they rush on the field to celebrate. But actually, I kind of like the idea of celebrating in the Dodgers back yard. After the way the fans have treated our fans and their columnists have talked bad about our players, I think we deserve to celebrate on THEIR mound and celebrate in THEIR locker room, and make a mess and have THEM clean it up.
Go Phils! Beat LA!

CSN has someone at Cottman and Frankford already, and there are fans there now, what’s so special about that place, I’m totally ignorant about the reason for celebrating there.

I live in mayfair and apparently that’s what people have done since the Flyers won the Cups in the 70s. So the story goes.

Frankford and Cottman is a huge intersection for people that live in NE Philly. It’s in Mayfair and there a lot of people that live around there. Lots of bars around too.

So fans from Philly just start heading down to that intersection when there’s something big happening? Is that where that Mardi Gras thing was?

Go Phillies!!!
and u know what I just noticed, we’ve lost the World Series 4 times (BOS in 1915, NYY in 1950, BAL in 1983, and TOR in 1993) all AL East teams . . . only TB left, but we’re due to beat one in the World Series.
Go Phillies!

Be careful Chase Mutley, Leslie Gudel was just talking to TMac and they were saying how badly the Phillie fans were being treated, getting poked in the face, etc. Leslie grew up there and said she’s surprised, it feels like an old time Raiders game.

The red striped quake is shaking LA. Will LA be able to mount an offense? Will LA take their ball and go home? Will Joe Torre say next year before the 8th inning? Will the LA crowd put on their coats, in the 61 degree weather, and go home early? Will Ryan Howard shake the bat and stand back and match Matt Stairs tit for tat? Will I get any sleep tonight? Will the neighbors be mad at me for banging pots and pans like New Years?

Wow, this Fox Pregame is awful.
“Moyer, Blanton, and Myers have a combined ERA of 11 right now.”
Well yeah, but you take Moyer out of it and the ERA is much lower then that. He got rocked for 6 runs in 1 1/3 innings. Blanton pitched 5 innings of 3 run ball. Myers gave up only 5 in 6 innings a slug fest that the Phils won.
Jeeze, these Fox people are such idiots.

If the Phils can wrap this up, they’ll still be talking about how the Dodgers have a chance for a comeback.

My mom doesn’t know anything much about sports and she has been watching the series. She even said to me “I don’t like that Manny Ramirez. He’s such a hot dog.”
