Hey look, a rambling, hackneyed, pompous sports “journalist,” who has never been to Philadelphia, writing an article about the Phillies rehashing the same talking points he’s read about for decades but never taken the time to fact check for himself. Have fun sucking down the most polluted air in the country while you call Philly, a beautiful city that puts LA’s architecture and history to shame, dingy. You are a joke, you don’t have an original bone in your body, and your mother, if she’s alive, wishes you did something better with your life.

I have nothing against the Dodgers or their fans. I wasn’t even born during our famous NLCS series in the 77, 78, and 83 (born December 83).

And if it is any consolation, we don’t like Tim McCarver much either.

My knowledge on Simers was zero to none prior to reading this, and my point simply is that we deal with this kind of media treatment on a daily basis. You can’t help but become defensive when this kind of “journalism” comes about.

SJ Mike, you said it best. This is a Phillies blog. Of course we are going to rip that @sshole to shreds for what he said in his article. I have nothing against the Dodgers or their fans at all, but I do have something against a douche bag anti-American who is going to say negative things about my fellow fans and myself.

Simers never seems to enjoy much of anything. Sucks to be him.

We are on a Phillies blog, so of course we are going to discuss Phillies related issues. It feels that by your nit picky logic that I should be writing about biases and clearing up stereotypes of all 30 teams’ coverage.

I have never once said that there isn’t this perception about Los Angeles and I know there is a lot of negative stuff being written about Manny.

The issue at hand is that we weren’t discussing that, we were discussing TJ Simers’ article. Do you disagree that what he said was smug and stupid? Because you seem to make it seem like what I was saying was that Dodgers fans were smug and stupid, which I certainly wasn’t.

Phil, there’s more to Los Angeles than Hollywood.

Anyway, my only point is that if you don’t like stereotypes, don’t dish ‘em out either.

And I’ve said from the beginning that it feels like the matchup is the Manny’s vs. the Phillies as opposed to the Dodgers vs. the Phillies. The negative articles are primarily targetted at Manny himself. The negative articles at Philly are pointed at us, the fans and the city.

If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.

Is it so hard to say that someone is wrong about your city without being wrong about someone else’s city? Do you think you’re going to make headway against this problem by being part of it?
