Dodger fan here. I can’t wish your team too much luck, but I can say they scare me way more than the Cubs did. The Cubs–well, they were the Cubs. Whereas yours is a club with some scary bats, some strong pitching. I dunno. I just figured I’d weigh in to say that, while the media might be jumping that Dodgers bandwagon like crazy, some of us–no matter how biased in the opposite direction–recognize the Phillies are an incredibly tough club and a great franchise. Hoping for a great series, even if we define “great” differently.

They’re favored more heavily with the bettors in Vegas, as the odds show the phillies are getting more action. And that accuscore thing shows we have a 56% edge in tomorrow’s game…The sports writers can’t get enough of boston and La. The NBA title game is enough to show that.

I just hope the phillies are prepared, and I think they will be.

Also remember that the Cubs just really stunk it up against the Dodgers. They had so many errors and just over all dumb mistakes. The Cubs weren’t playing that good baseball from the moment they clinched home field on.

All of the Mets and Yankees fans have jumped on the Dodgers jock. It’s pathetic. I’ve seen lots of new Dodger Blue hats up here in CT in the past week. Pathetic, truly pathetic.

I do have a wish. I hope the Orioles put something together soon. I’d love to see Tampa and the Orioles own the AL East for the next decade. That would be a beautiful thing.

With Furcal back and healthy, the dodgers really don’t have a whole in their lineup. We don’t necessarily have a lot of home run guys (even though Manny has been on a tear), but we get it done with timely hitting and smart baseball.

I fully agree that the national media is biased, but comparing the dodgers bias to the red sox-east coast bias is not fair. They are not even in the same category. Same thing happened to the Dodgers when they beat the cubs. ESPN hardly talks about the Dodgers, but rather talks about the Cubs collapse. Not to mention that the the red sox airtime is sickening…

I really don’t see how you can say that the Phillies are a far and away favorite for this series. Pitching wins championships, and the Dodgers have great pitching. (Your lefties should watch out if Kuo comes back strong.) I’m not saying that the Dodgers should be the favorites either. I actually think that this series is one of the most evenly matched that we’ve seen in a long while. Remember, with all the injuries they’ve sustained this year, the dodger record doesn’t reflect the current dodgers squad. Go blue!

Yea, i agree… The phillies get no credit. After the Brewers won a game in the last series all i heard was the Phillies can’t hit and their not producing runs – eh hehm – their still up in the series 2-1.

its so strange to me that the dodgers are being picked to win this series. i think it just shows a distinct national media bias against philadelphia. i can’t see any other reason. i see this type of shit time and time again. even when the phils beat the brewers in the playoffs all they talked about was the brewers. and they still talk more about the mets even though they are on the golf course right now.

the phillies are clearly a better and more talented all around baseball team than the dodgers are. just look at their records to prove it. but the better and more talented team doesn’t always win. so i won’t say the phillies are a lock. but they should definitely be considered the favorite. the dodgers were barely above .500 this year. gimme a break with them. they’re a fraud

I am sure Charlie Manuel and the Phils will prefer to fly under the radar. Both teams have been hot so home field advantage might be the difference.
