politics J-Man politics, would take Major League Baseball standing up for itself. Selig would rather play a bad hand and go with the ‘told you so’ plan than stand-up and lead.

He’s a bad commisioner, even with the publication of the Mitchell report he shrivilled into the background and it was his people that got the ball rolling on that, he’s a bad and worst tired commisioner more worried about loosing fans than fighting to gain them back.

The 1989 World Series between the A’s and Giants when that earthquake struck was pretty ugly,but you can’t prevent that this is preventable…Yea i heard that game 5 was one of the lowest World Series games ever,but thats MLB fault they need to start the games earlier not everyone stays up until midnight to watch the game and get some better announcers.

Uglier than the 1919 World Series … with the “Black Sox” scandal and players throwing games?

Sorry … I care more about the Phillies potentially winning their 2nd world series in their 125 year history, than how “pretty” the series looks!

That said, Bud Selig has done everything in his power to destory baseball. When is his tenure up, again?

I love how everyone will bitch that the games last 3 to 4 hours, but no one ever mentions the 5 minutes commercial breaks. Its why I dont watch MNF much anymore and it stretches the game out at least another 3o minutes. Great post Tim.

The negative is that neither team is hitting all that great. The positive is that both teams are pitching well. If the other was the case, you would complain about the terrible pitching in the series.

The average number of errors in a World Series is 11 so the number of errors in this series are about average.

Would you rather have the games on the Versus network at 4 PM in the afternoon? Ratings are low because the Rays have no fan base whatsoever and no stars to speak of. The Phils, believe it or not, have a fairly large fan base outside of Philadelphia so they are carrying the ratings.

I guess we’ve just got to get over it, we have no reason to believe the guys won’t pull it over be it tonight, tomorrow or the next night… No matter how badly they play in most games the Phils are 9 outs from being World Champions so lets get back in the corner instead of bitching in the crowd.

(And if things really do go south then we have a new target of abuse and it’s not the owners, Wade, Larry, Padilla, Garcia, Helms or even Eaton… Bud Selig you pissed off the wrong set of fans!)
