Not that I want to jump the gun, but I was given a recommendation by our own Julie Michael, and it’s fitting. Let’s go with Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. Yes, celebrate. Celebrate because tonight may very well be the greatest night in Phillies franchise history. Here we are, everyone, at the climax of an incredible season. Time to do it. Time to win. Just win.

Go Phillies!

We haven’t lost. We have a three and a half inning game coming up – and we get to bat first and last.

The good news about the weather in Philly…..

The silver lining is that since it is raining so hard, and the Phillies end up winning, the cars the fans light on fire shouldn’t stay lit too long.

Look everyone…….this sucks…………but we have to just collect ourselves and be confident that we WILL win this game. This thing ends here!!!! No umpire, no media, no MLB is gonna get in our way.

The rains what screwed Hamels up too he was crusing along until it started raining…This game should of been delayed a couple innings ago…These umps should be fired after this series.

This is a family site and I’m not gonna do Tim the disservice…..

  • The concern is that if they don’t get this in tonight when will they get it in?

This is bad……if tonight gets rained out,and it looks like rain all day tomorrow………IF it goes into wed. afternoon,I may take a trip to an almost empty CBP if it goes into wed. afternoon and try to get in.

Aparently if the games called here, they’ll return tomorrow and unless the Phils complete the inning the score would revert to 2-1 at the top of the inning to start tomorrow…

They had to stop the game. They should have done it earlier.

    Just miserable conditions.

They should NOT allow the balance of this game go to TB…its OUR field so it should play out in Philly

Blah, Blah, Blah with the officials and how unfair it all is. If that were Philly down a run, we would bitch if we didn’t get a chance. It is even that way in high school. Can you imagine the phils winning on a rain suspended game to win the series- pathetic! There would be an * next to the 2008 World Series Champs.

Scholar, I noted MLB execs were the ones that make the call, not the umps.

Now, how much do you all bet if it rains tomorrow and they can’t play, Selig makes Philly fly to Tampa to play the rest of the suspended game on Wednesday. That way, if there is a Game 6, they can play it Wednesday night. I would be so Goddamned pissed if they did that, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

And what was McCarver saying about it being embarrassing or something, like it’s the city’s fault it’s raining? WTF?

“C” stands for cherub, I think.

  • I doubt Selig would do that. That would be ridiculous.

It’s bottom of the 6th, 2-2 and we have the best bullpen in baseball. But, it still feels like we just lost.

Chimp? Chump? Candy-ass? I have plenty more but I am not going to get too filthy here. On the bright side the Titans should beat the Colts and we all get to laugh at Peyton Manning during the rain delay.

They should have called it before it was an official game. File this one under “no one could have suspected.”

  • Well it does feel like the momentum has shifted Tampa Bay’s way. But that’s ok. By the time they play this game again it will have subsided. :)

Well, at least Selig confirmed the game will be held in Philadelphia irregardless of whether they have to wait until Thanksgiving or not – it will not be moved to Tampa to finish. THANK GOD!

So are we thinking there’s zero chance this game starts back up tonight? Like they won’t randomly start it back up at like 2 AM right?

Nevermind, just saw that they suspended it.

I feel like we lost even though technically we have the upper hand (4 innings for us, 3 for the Rays). But I just feel like the world is conspiring against us. Hamels will probably be done for the rest of the game; we got 6 innings from him when we were all expecting more.

That being said, I think MLB had to do this. The game was getting too sloppy and we were not playing well under those circumstances. This sucks so much. I didn’t even finish my beer.

Bud Selig just admited he broke the rules instead of following the rule book. Cause there is not special rules for the World Series.

    Pure BULL.

Look, I don’t want to win this game by the game being called….

I just think they waited too long to delay the game to begin with. They saw the radar.

This game should have started an hour or two earlier.

Selig says that when it does restart, it will be at a regular game time – 8:35 p.m. Eastern, not in the middle of the day. He explained that he wanted to give fans plenty of warning, and wanted to hold it at a normal time. If it doesn’t go tomorrow night (which it doesn’t sound like will happen), it will likely be Wednesday night. I guess the bright spot is even if we lose Game 5 and Game 6, Hamels could pitch Game 7 on Friday night on short rest if he had to. Of course, we don’t want that to happen.

    Is Selig senile?

So wait, now that the game is suspended. Is MLB saying that if the Rays hadn’t tied the game up then they still would have suspended the game this quickly and the Phillies would be World Champions right now? Or would they have waited basically all night to call the game?

  • Posts: 0 NJ (Go Joe Bombton!)

I actually feel sick. Kazmir tanked it and the Phils had it set-up for Cole to go deep but Selig has prioritized the Rays fantasy story and tomorrow’s been handed to them on a silver platter with a big eat up sign.

Again, as I stated earlier, if it were the Phillies we would have wanted the same treatment. I think it would be bush-league to win the world series due to rain in the 6th
