I’m getting a little sick of all the runs being left in scoring position. 1 for 28 with RISP is just a little pathetic. They better start hitting those in, they can’t leave it up to the pitching and D every single game. Come on Phils! Put out a bit more fight offensively! These low scores they’re putting out are killin me!

I will not make any predictions until after I see which Meyers shows up. My best is on the Phillies in the end, but I just cannot guess how many games. IF they win Game 2, I’d bet they win in 5. If they lose game 2; I am thinking they will win in 7. I do not know why I think that; I just do.

On another note: I am so glad they won game 1, but honestly, I was a bit disgusted in their performance because everyone said it would be a low scoring game. I was hoping they’d blow it out and shut everyone (analysts) up fast… Leaving 9 on base is not quite the best playing and it gives the analysts more ammo to pull for the Rays. My hope is game two is a slugfest for them and they win.

I really, really think Charlie should pitch Hamels three times, in games 1, 4, and 7. 4 days rest in 4 and 7, if 7′s even necessary. The kid’s young, determined, locked in – and flags fly forever. And look, if we get to 7, who do you want on the mount, Jamie Moyer on 5 days rest or Cole Hamels on 4? I love Jamie as much as anyone, but Cole is the call.

I wish there were some way to pitch Myers at home, but I just don’t see it.

Sounds like Brett Myers is the Phils’ version of Matt Garza?

Sort of….emotionally Myers is like Garza, but without the talent.
Flaky + talent = mercurial, e.g. Garza
Flaky + no talent = unreliable, e.g. Myers

that was a tidbit from the rays blog “draysbay”… i did a little homework…
myers post all-star break=
7-4 boasting a 3.06 ERA
garza post all-star break=
4-4 and a 3.39 ERA…

sounds like some misled rays fans who, like espn experts, only see what they want to see…

Is it crazy that I say us in 4? Call me crazy then. While that is my prediction, I just simply know we’re going to win it, how many doesn’t matter. I can’t wait until we prove all of these predictions wrong; we’re pretty damn good at proving everyone wrong.

oh man i’m gettin a ‘halfie’ just thinkin about the phils in 5… (good slogan – ‘phils in phive’)… if they pull that off my boss or any of you guys/gals will have to bail me out as i will streak across the the field from foul pole to foul pole… hahah we can only hope…

man, I wish Manuel separated Utley and Howard in the lineup. Now the 3 lefties in Tampa’s pen will get to face two lefties instead of Utley, Werth (a lefty killer) and then Howard. Damn your stubborness, Manuel.

I agree. Phils in 6. I think they split the first two in Tampa. Win two of three in Philly, and then Myers come up big in game 6. He will go at least 2-3 with an RBI. ;)
