Ex-O’s Skipper Added To Coaching Staff

In a quick bit of prior news, Sam Perlozzo was named to the Phillies coaching staff. He is yet to have a position, but he will instruct infield defense, which was one of former third base coach Steve Smith’s old jobs.
Perlozzo was third base coach of the Mariners last season, and before that was myriad positions with the Orioles, including manager from 2005-07. He went 122-164 as skipper of the Orioles.
