Moyer’s gonna fly under other teams’ radars for awhile, so we have time to sign him. The CC.-Lowe-Dempster-Burnett feeding frenzy will draw attention away from him so we can negotiate logically.

It’s tough imagining Pat as anything but a Phillie, but I still don’t think we will sign him. Pat while he may be in our hearts will not be in our uniform next year. Someone will overpay and Pat will take the contract because it’s not likely he’ll be able to score big again as a FA. I still us going it cheap and signing Juan Rivera or trading for Dye. No picks lost with those two options.

CBP is the best park in baseball!

Of course I might be slightly biased, but in all honesty I’ve been to Fenway, Wrigley, and Camden Yards. I think CBP is a nicer park than any of them. I would say that equivalent ticket prices for the first two are at least double what they are at CBP.

I have bad news for you mikemike. Unfortunately, most of those that act boneheaded are probably buying up SRO tickets which haven’t been changed.

Ticket prices going up?? At this rate, it would still take about 40 years of increases to come close to many teams prices who are far worse teams. I still think it is a steal to see this team play in such a great ball park

From the tone of the insiders they think it’ll be the Burrell/Dunn/Oliver Perez level that’s really going to get hit by the ‘economic constraints’. I think Burrell’s going to be signable once the first wave of free agents have signed, I just don’t think the FO likes him enough not to low-ball him in that offer again. Usually you like your guy because you know what he can do as oppose to the other guy, in Burrell’s case that works against him.

I agree with Gavins fathers, brothers cousin…P the B will be back..
I think after Manny signs and Burrell’s agent realizes he cant get a huge contract in the american leage for next year,the phils will sign him for 2 years at 12 mil ea yr.
The Phils will realize there isnt much of an upgrade in either Dye or Bradley without giving up more than they want.
And I think both the Phills AND Burrell will BOTH be happy.

Most of you probably know this, but I just discovered it. i’m a little slow sometimes.

You can download every Phillies postseason game for 1.99 ea. I’m pretty psyched. i havent seen any place else sell the actual games like that. Just got done watching Game 1 of the NLDS. Working my way through the playoffs. Makes the winter go by a little faster.

early in the season i figured our 17 game plan would go up $100, they did, but i get to watch the World Champion Phillies. While financially it hurts, at least i’ll be watching THE BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL. pretty sweet.

its ok that the prices go up, but i expect at least five more dollar dog nights now. the number of dollar dog nites this year was pretty lame.

regarding burrell, why wouldnt they take him back now. holliday was the real match for burrell’s replacement, there’s not another LF on trading block besides magglio and dye (RF) who puts up similar numbers. for those who want to think burrell will continue his late season slump this spring, think back to 2007 season. he slumped early, turned it on late and helped us to first playoff in years. this season he struck fire early, slumped late. the guy hits hard it seems when the rest of the team sucks, and loses his luster when his teammates start hitting. defensively he squares up on line drive hits well, and his arm didnt bother me until the post season where he made two consecutive throws home instead of hitting cutoff man. his first throw was weak, i could have thrown the guy out. then again i coudnt hit a double into the deepest part of the park either.

magglio is older than pat and might get hurt again. could try and pick up jermaine dye, put him or vic in a corner position. dye is owed 11.5 mill in 09 (cheaper than burrell) and he put up better numbers than burrell. 35 hr, 96 r, and he can steal a base. better than burrell in every aspect except for heart in my opinion. thats one thing ill miss if burrell isnt in red pinstripes this spring.
