Jamie-are you really serious about BUCK and MCCARVER! They are the worst announcers on the face of this planet! I think they both owe the PHiladelphia Phillies and their Phans a huge public apology for how they handled themselves in the WS! Seriously!

I am sick and tired of people telling me that the Blue Jays are our AL East rival. First of all we have no rival from the AL East. Just because we played in one World Series in 1993 does not mean we are “rivals”. I understand that the Phillies and Blue Jays get paired up because of the lack of a regional opponent from the AL East, but don’t tell me it is a rival.

On the other hand, will the Phillies be playing an exhibition against the Iron Pigs again this year? (Side note: the Iron Pigs have redesigned their website – for the better).

Ok, so we can rematch the 1993 World Series then. At least Carter cannot beat us now LOL

I find it funny that every WS opponent we ever had (except KC) is from the current NL East (I know it was not necessarily then):

1915 – Red Sox
1950 – Yankees
1980 – KC – doesn’t count
1983 – O’s
1993 – Blue Jays
2008 – Rays

So any way you slice it, we would be re-matching something.

Oh, and the Marlins can handle someone else. They can play the A’s for craps and giggles.

They could be playing anyone in an on deck series and still get great ratings, specially coming off winning the World Series. The Blue Jays are technically our AL East opponent since the mets/yanks have their matchup, the nats/orioles are locked in, boston/atl have their ties, and marlins/rays have their matchup but this past world series may change things who knows.
