Georgie- I am with you on this one. He’s a risk in the club house and on the field.

I don’t have an answer for LF, but I feel Bradley isn’t it.
Dunn is not even remotely close to being the answer. He’s a DH. He swings and misses more than Pat and he doesn’t look motivated.

I really like Baldelli simply because we don’t need to be spending money on the OF when we could go out and get another quality starter like Lowe or someone.

I don’t understand why everyone wants to replace Pat with Bradley. Bradley’s stats are inflated in ’08 compared to his previous years. He had over 500 AB’s only one season, ’04, the other years he had under 400. His RBI and HR production isn’t all that great, and the guy obviously has personality problems. Why in hell would you want to bring that element into a team that has just won a WS?

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned Adam Dunn, he’s a FA?

Tim if I was in charge of the phillies with the departure of burrell and the others. I would like to get Sheets and Bradley. I believe you could get them for around 22 million total Bradley at 7-8 and sheets around 12 -14. don’t resign Moyer or eyre. So your starters would be Hamels 5-6 million,sheets 13 million myers 9 million and happ and blanton 5million total total about 32 million thats not bad for that rotation.

Ludwick is almost thirty and isn’t this his first big year. that would scare me. Plus isn’t he lefthanded/ whatever player we bring in to play left must be righthanded and have some power.If I were the phillies I would see if there is interest in Werth by the padres offer him and marson plus galvis. But only if Holiday will sign a contract extension.

No chance on Ludwick, rumor has the Cards and Braves talking a deal that would send Kelly Johnson to St. Louis and we have no-one of that level that would be available to send to the Cards. As for Swisher the White Sox sent two stud prospects to Oakland so he’ll only be available to anyone willing to pony up, Golson might be of some interest to them but with Marson & Carrasco unavailable who would we send that would satisfy Williams considering their built to win now? Byrnes is interesting and would be a fit but where’s his health out, how available would he be?

Kendrick has little value on the trade market and Happ doesn’t have the value say Edison Volquez had when Texas dealt him. Coste has close to no value on the trade market, the available cather pool is weak but their are plenty of free agent catchers. Marson won’t be the second catcher with Ruiz re-established as the primary reciever.

If Burrell walks and Amaro does trade to fill the hole we’ll either be looking at a Freddy Garcia like deal unless it’s a platoon bat in which it’s tough to see past Jason Michaels.

Geoff…you wanted to “blow this team up” earlier this summer, remember? And now you think teams will want Kendrick and Coste in trades? Not going to happen. The Phils have been using Donald at 3rd over the past few weeks, so I wouldn’t say quite yet that he’ll never play here. That remains to be seen.

Happ and Kendrick are guys to throw into a deal yes. Id be ok with putting greg golson and jason donald into a deal too, since its obvious that donald will never play here. golson also looks liek a faster michaeul bourn who also still cant hit. golson, donald, happ, kendrick. thats a decent start. lou marson will be the other catcher this year so coste is expendable too. id expect taylor to be deemed untouchable over teh course of this coming season and someome like eric byrnes, nick swisher, ryan ludwick, etc might provide decent numbers from the 5,6,7 spot in the lineup.

Can you really throw out the team mentality after winning a championship on the basis of it? Bradley’s rumored to be looking 4/40, he won’t get it but we’re not looking at 2/16.

i agree with you on Bradley, yeah, he might lack the “team” mentality, but you can’t argue with the numbers he puts up. A left fielder batting .321!?! unheard of in these parts. also Kudos to Charlie, never was a fan of Steve Smith.
