It will be interesting to see the NL Manager of the Year award in a couple of hours. I can’t believe so many mainstream idiots are picking Pinella (and some even Torre) to win it. Let’s see…Pinella lead the Cubs to another great regular season, but yet another great flop in the playoffs. Yeah, he’s a great pick. And then we have Torre. A great manager over the years, and leads LA to a whopping 84-78 record in the weak NL West. We know what happened to them.
On the other hand, you have Cool Chuck. He lead the Phils with his fatherly approach through the thick and thin, with them getting their best record in 15 years (92-70). NL East? Check. NLDS? Check. NLCS? Check. World Series? Yup, got that one too.
The most amazing thing is he did this with two starting pitchers sent to the minors, and an MVP shortstop out for about a month. If Manuel doesn’t win the NL Manager of the Year, it will be an outrage.
At least that’s my .02

But you have to remember, this is just for the regular season. Voting was done before the playoffs started.
