Could there be a better Christmas present in the city of Philadelphia than a World Series trophy, and to be World Ph*cking Champions? I think not…

Happy Holidays Phillies Nation! We will enter the new year as World Phuckin’ Champions, awesome! I’d like to say a big thank you to Tim, Brian, and Rob, and everyone else who makes this the best blog out there.
And to those of you lucky enough to have both your parents with you this Christmas, don’t forget to tell tem you love them and how much you appreciate everything they’ve done for you, because they won’t be with you forever and it’s never the same when they’re gone….

Merry Christmas to Phillies fans around the country. I want to say thanks for a great site. I started relying on Philliesnation for insight into this team, and was not disappointed, as the roller coaster that was 2008 ended with a World Series Championship. The Phils won the right way, with 7 of their 12 key players coming from the farm system. A nice present for this great city, and for baseball fans everywhere.

If I may quote the great Bill Murray from Scrooged “Its Christmas Eve.Its that one night out of the whole year where we act a little nicer,we smile a little easier,we cheer a little more…….For a couple of hours out of the whole year,we are the people that we always hoped we would be”Thank you for welcoming me in here as one of your family (eventho I will always stand by my Amazins) and of course Happy Christmas to all,and to all a good night.

Derek Lowe in “deep negotiations” with Mets for a “four year, or perhaps three with a vesting option” for somewhere around 14-16m. If thats the case, then I would offer him 3y45m with an option. For godsakes!

yeah, Derek Lowe for 15 million or Jamie Moyer for 8 mil? Way to wait out the market, Ruben!
Seriously, unbelievable offseason for the Muts. K-Rod, Putz and Lowe compared to the Burrell/Ibanez switch for us. Wow.

1) Remember the Mets holes compared to the Phillies
2) Take any report/article on the Mets with a pinch of salt, it’s ‘cool’ for the insiders to talk about the Mets so your going to hear this that and everything about what’s going on there which you don’t with the Phillies.
3) It’s unlikely the Phils would have got a deal done with Lowe, Amaro was reported to have offered more than 3 years and certainly more than 45/3 so pulling out of the race when the suitors for Lowe narrowed sense says meant a deal couldn’t be reached. Remember some of his clients are hurt by Boras’s tactics and the Phillies tend to avoid his clients like the plague so Boras may have cost Lowe a better deal than he’ll get now
4) Here’s how the Phillies view the rotation: Cole as a legitimate top 3 pitcher in the NL, there must be a very positive feeling towards Myers otherwise a frontline pitcher would have been added at all costs, a healthy Joe Blanton, an effective Jamie Moyer and a choice between two decent young pitchers or going with a tud prospect (that could equal that elusive number 2 before long).
