Dan Graziano of the Newark Star Ledger reportsthe Phillies have inquired about left-handed pitcher Andy Pettitte.
It seems Pettitte, 36, could be a viable two-year option if the Phillies don’t re-sign Jamie Moyer. Pettitte went 14-14 with a 4.54 ERA last season for the Yankees — his worst campaign since 1999.

Pettite hasn’t had an ERA under 4.00 in 3 years, and he made 16 mil last year. It just doesn’t make sense to me to sign him over Moyer. Moyer plays a BIG role to this pitching staff, which is much more than Petitte could do.

You mean we could get him without giving up Reggie Taylor? Phenomenal.
I’ll take an older Moyer any day of the week, thank you.

I f*&$ing HATE Amaro already if he doesn’t resign Moyer. Pettitte?!! He’s a cheating piece of horse manure. Yes. it was he and Roger Clemens sharing the same stall in the Yankees locker room.

If Amaro resigns Moyer at 2 years 18 mil. then I will hate Amaro. Seriously? Moyer worth 9 mil a year? I don’t like the Pettite idea either, but don’t give in to the rest of that shit.

2years for 18mil is better than paying for another 50/50 pitcher who doesn’t help a young pitching staff improve like moyer does. And the roids have completely worn off so you can never tell what your gonna get with petite. I say sign moyer, he’s happy here extremely effective for his age, and tutors our other pitchers particularly a young lefthanded world series MVP

I’ll take Pettitte if he promises to go back on HGH.
