You graduated from the 12th grade in Queens,Grrrumpy? OMG, thats like having your PHD. LOL Dr. Grrrumpy, I actually enjoy reading your blogs, you make it known that you are a loyal Muts fan but you actually bring something to the table. Unlike most of the Muts fans that come on here, you offer an intelligent and honest persective of your team, not just spewing trash talk and backing it up with nothing. I think the other Phils fans on here feel pretty much the same about you, your opinion is respected.

The senior year in Queens is the 6th grade?Wow,things must’ve changed since I graduated 20 years ago from the 12th grade High school senior.Hell I even went to my prom and nailed my high school sweetheart too.Why are you people hating on the Mets fans?Yeah I know you guys are Phillies phans,its a Phillies blog,OK.Stop raining on the Mets fans parade,Mets have done some great job thus far,and it hasn’t cost much.Personally,I can’t wait to see what Minaya does for an encore.

Been here for the winter meetings and took a baseball sabatical for the last month because nothing was worth speaking about.You guys are crowing that you are the World Fvcking Champs,now I tip my cap to the 2008 Phillies,I really do,they deserve all the accolades that become to them,however again the hunters have become the hunted.Now there have been 9 different Champs in the last 9 years so you know its gonna be tough to defend the title.Mets aren’t done yet and the weakness on the Amazins….is now bolsterd and improved,and yet need more quality arms.I swear,2009 is going to be a fun rivalry again.

putz you haven’t made any detailed arguments, man. therefore, the muts name will stick, for you at least. don’t come trolling with trash. david, k-rod didn’t pitch all 3 outs in all ~65 saves either. lidge pitched 3 outs in 99% of his saves. our closer is better. don’t tell me you’d take your new recruits over our proven bullpen. don’t forget innings 5-7, who will keep runs off the board for you then

Hey Mark, if you watched the way the Angels used him last year, you would realize that 62 save total was inflated. They would pull their set up man with 2 outs in the 9th and nobody on and K-Rod would come in for the final out and his little “Dancing with the Stars” act that should go great with your overated shortstop. K-Rod is no better then Billy Wagner. The bottom line for a closer is save percentage and Lidge save percentage was 100%.

David, step away from the crack pipe ! K-Rod blew 8 saves last year, Brad Ldge was perfect. Putz was horrible last year after a great 2007. Ryan “The Bridge to Lidge” Madson was dominating down the stretch last year when we overtook the “Choking Muts” for the second year in a row. The best 8th & 9th inning relievers are pitching for The World Champion Philadelphia Phillies !

I see the Muts fans are starting to show up and lets us know they got K-Rod and Putz,o’well they ain’t got sh*t on us until they win a World Championship…Now to the Phils,i also think the catcher they just got Paulino will be dealt somewhere soon or Coste will be the one dealt because we aren’t gonna have 3 catchers when we got Marson down in the minors whos near major league ready.

I think Paulino is going to get flipped by the Phils, possibly in the DeRosa deal. The Padres were looking for a good defensive backup catcher and Jaramillo isn’t quite ready. Paulino was the Pirates backup last year,threw out 26% of the basestealers that ran on him, has a good glove, and is still only 28. With Ruiz, Coste, and Marson on the doorstep, I don’t see how he fits into the Phils plans, unless Coste is in a deal. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
