What happen to Jamie Moyer. all that talk at the parade born and raised. the phillies offered 10 million one year deal,, my god he is 46 take it to be home and close to your family. he wants at least two years at 10 per and a third year maybe. crazy.

2yrs/10M is way too much. He is great for the team and he can still win lots of games, but that is simply too much money. He does realize he is 46, and that the odds of him improving his 2008 numbers are not that great? I’d like to see him back, and he definitely deserves a raise, but I think that 1year/10M is pretty generous.

10M: That would be what Ryan Howard got this year.

Ken Rosenthal just reported from Las Vegas that Jamie is looking for 2 yrs, 10M each, and that the Phillies are willing to go 1 yr/10M. He also said it’s possible the Dodgers or even yankees would go the 2yrs/10M.
Just heard they are talking to Nick Punto tonite.

I would love to know what Moyer is asking for… It can’t be $10 M… and anything less than that for a 2 year deal is very reasonable in my opinion

How in the world does anyone think the Phillies are going to sign Derek Lowe… and do you people realize that he’s asking for the same amount that CC Sabathia is probably going to sign for at $100 Million..

I agree that signing Moyer should be a priority. He is a spectacular clubhouse guy and makes everyone around him better. It worries me that some of the intangibles that Gillick seemed to have his finger on are far beyond Amaro.

I think Moyer is right to ask for a raise based on his performance last year. I think he still has at least two good years left in him. Since he took a pay cut two years ago to stay with us, Amaro should be willing to give him a raise. In addition, he is like a second pitching coach! I think we all know how much the younger guys go to him for advice, tips, guidance whatever you wanna call it, espcially Hamels.

Ha- Jamie Moyer’s in better shape than most guys half his age, he did a hell of a lot for this team last year, and now everyone wants to cast him aside like yesterday’s old trash. I don’t blame him for wanting a raise, the guy keeps himself in excellent pitching condition, more than you can say for Myers, Blanton, etc. Why do peope think he’s just going to break down at any minute and turn into an old man? Jesus! Get a grip, pitchers are obviously not a dime a dozen these days.

We need Moyer or someoone with his capability if we are to contend in 2009. We can’t afford to lose both Burrell and Moyer without replacing them. I think Moyer is much more key then replacing Burrell at this point. I love Blanton in the 4 and don’t think he is a good 3 man.

Say what you will about Moyer’s age… the guys stays healthy enough to go out and win you ball games.. and lots of them.. he deserves to get paid. I’d like to hear the numbers they disagree over.. he’s probably pissed that Adam Eaton makes $8.5 and he only makes $3.5 …

If its $16/2 … give it to him.. he’s a hell of a pitcher.. 18/2… yea sure bring him back.. he makes the other around him better, and he’s still effective himself

Good, now stop wasting time with Moyer and move on to other puzzle pieces. I heard they asked about Delmon Young. But I want no part of that guy, he seems like a complete turd. But hed be cheap for now. Theres a reason the Rays dumped him, then immediately went to the world series, and now the twins are trying to unload him. DONT BITE. Hes a turd.
